Hi,

Please find my details.

Study permit expiry - 10th May 2015
Spouse work permit expiry - 10th May 2015
Spouse SIN expiry - 10th May 2015

I submitted the application to renews my study permit and my application has been refused with the reason that I should submit a few more details with a comprehensive letter from the school. I am going to re-submit the application for the extension of my study permit and extension of my wife's work permit tomorrow. I am sure that I won't hear back from the CIC on the status of my application by May 10, 2015 and my wife;s study permit will expire.

My question is

1) Can my wife work under implied status?
2) Her SIN is also expiring on May 10, 2015, can she extend her SIN as she is under implied status?

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Since her SIN will be expired by that time, she can not paid for sure.
Call CIC to make sure that she may work or not.
As I know SIN will not be extended without proof (study, work permit).

I do not know why they refused your application!!! They simply can ask you for more info.

I also applied for my study and my wife's work permits extension at the end of February 2015. I did not get any update by now.

When had you applied for the refused application?
Would you please let me know what they asked you to submit again.
Have you submitted your application online by MYCIC?

1. As you won't have a valid study permit when your spouse's work permit expires, she can't apply for a new work permit, and is not entitled to Implied status. She will have to apply for an extension as a visitor and stop working 15 May. Once you receive a new SA, then your spouse can apply for a new work permit.

Hi You are right, but what about applying together.

I applied for my study permit and my wife's work permit under MYCIC account and in one application.
What do you think? Does it work?

Hello Guys,

I need help ..

I have applied my study permit extension and my wife's open work permit extension. But they have approved my study permit, but my wife's still under process. Last time I applied together and both of us received study and work permit extension at the same time through mail. Do you think I have to call CIC to inquire about the status?

Regards,
Manu :'(

Hi Guys,

I completed a 1-year post-graduate program and am now enrolled in a second 1-year program. My wife is here with me on an open work permit and is currently working. I am applying for my student permit extension and her work permit extension. I had a few queries regarding that:
1) Can I submit both the applications at the same time?
2) What's the amount of funds that I would need to show? (Can I show my wife's current employment as a source of funds too?)
3) For her application form (IMM5710), what option should I select among the four provided
  • A work permit with the same employer
  • An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer
  • Restoration of your status as a worker
  • An initial or an extension of a temporary resident permit
4) In the form, do I need to provide details of my wife's current employer and current job details?

Thanks in Advance,
