Hello, I recently submitted my wife's PR application in October under family class but have not received an AOR as of yet. I am a Canadian Citizen and living exclusively out of Canada with my wife. Is it a good idea to apply for my wife's visitor visa while her PR application is under process. Keeping in mind that I have submitted her profile as "applied outside of Canada".

You can always attempt to secure a TRV. Given that you don’t live in Canada she will likely have to have a very strong profile to get approved. You will be required to provide concrete Proof that you will be moving back to Canada in order for your spouse to get PR. Do you have a job lived up in Canada, have you given your notice at your current job, do you have housing lined up in Canada, etc. Moving back to Canada before your spouse gets PR also makes proving your intent to move back to Canada much easier. The only issue is that there are no guarantees that a spouse can get a TRV before they get approved for PR if they are not visa-exempt

Up until this week, I was working remotely from India for my current Canadian employer. However, I was let go without a cause on Thursday 11/30. I have a house which is on rent on a year lease and I have served a notice to my current tenants to move out once the lease ends in March 2024. My wife and I are intending to move in. Now that I have been let go I need to find a job and have to move back to Canada. I believe that will make a very good point. But I wanted to know if I apply for Visitor visa, will her PR application be affected in anyway?

A separate point is that it probably makes sense to wait until receiving the AOR. The new policy on TRVs for spouse-applicants seems to use that as the 'test' for inclusion under that policy.

Of course, it's possible your spouse would get a TRV without that, but no-one here has any way of knowing.

Any idea how long usually it takes to receive an AOR. I submitted my in mid October 2023.

It's a good idea to apply for TRV once after you receive AOR for the PR Spousal application!
I received AOR just yesterday. A quick question, let’s say I get the TRV for my spouse but since the PR application is submitted outside Canada but my spouse would be with me in Canada, how would that work? Do I have to let IRCC know to move the file from outside to inside Canada?
