Hi,

You will have to apply for SOWP (spouse open work permit) visa. It comes under TRV. this visa is approved for your spouse and can work for any employer after she lands in Canada. hope this helps. msg me if you have more doubts.

Dear all,

Good day!!! Let me tell you little about myself a bit. I am an Indian starting at a University in Ontario for my 2 years master program from winter january 2018. Today I got my visa approved. I am engaged to a girl for couple of months. And I am planning to get married when I return home after my first semester break and take her along with me back to Canada. For the sake visa purpose we are planning for register marriage which comes under the special marriage act in couple of days. In my application for study permit I have declared myself as unmarried/single (which is technically true because till date I was never married). My Fiancée has completed her M.Tech in computer Science from India and currently working in an American MNC for past two years. I Thought instead of she applying for PR from India , It is better for her to join me in spouse visa as the spouse of a student can work for full time on open work permit. Kindly advise me on the following:

1. What all things to be done now

2. What are the necessary docs required

3. To apply for spouse visa does she need a IELTS? If yes is it General category IELTS?

If anyone have undergone through similar situation please help

Though I haven’t been through similar situation I can make some suggestions and responses as per my experience ( already applied for SP for myself, SOWP for spous and TRV for kids)
Your spouse doesn’t need IELTS for SOWP.
Gether all papers and evidences relating to your upcoming marriage registration (pix as well)
Get your name incorporated as her spous on her Passport and apply for her SOWP (it may take 4-6 months to approve)
Hope other members will also suggest necessary actions

is it necessary that in the passport your spouse name should be added ? both of us have a valid passport with considerable time till expiry. Moreover in my study permit application i have given my old passport number details
