Spouse Visa !! Please experts advise...

Hi All,

My husband is in Canada for 1 year graduate certificate program. he left this Aug 22.
Now, i want to join him there. I have few questions.
1) earliest by when should i apply, the consultant is rigid on applying on after November
2) i wish to apply asap, what are the chances of rejection?
3) I am working, so i am able to show strong proofs, of returning back to india. still should i wait for Nov.Dec?

any suggestions/advises are most welcome. thanks to all in advance.

Why is ur consultant asking to wait till november is he giving a specific reason? u can apply anytime....keep in mind spouse visa is a bit difficult....u need strong financial proof and strong ties to home country. If your profile is good that will help too. Are u aplying for TRV or work permit?

Consultant has advised to keep a gap of atleast 3 months before going on visitor visas, giving the embassy a practical picture of visiting my husband after 3-4 months. also, he says there is only one category i.e. visitor visas. once i reach canada, at the airport i have to inform the immigration officer that i would intend to work, and then they would grant me OWP for as long as my hubby's visas are valid. i am a working lady, and can show leave letter from the employer. Finances are also manageable. I dont not have any assets as such under my name like land, hiouse etc. In this case what else should i be showing?

well u can wait for 3 months no big deal but i applied for my wife right after i got my letter of introduction and not even my study permit. you could have applied together too. As for the ties to home country u can add a letter from ur employer that would say u have a job in ur home country and u r required to go back to it after a certain period of vacation. u can apply for open work permit if u want to work just applying for visitors visa is not gonna work. u have to fill IMM1295E and select open work permit. if u go with visitors visa they will issue u a visitors permit for the duration of ur spouses study permit at POE on which u cannot work. I dont know if saying i intend to work at POE would grant u a work permit i doubt that as CIC has to verify if u qualify for work permit and not CBSA. I may be wrong there so check with some else too.
