Spouse Visa for Canada

Hi..

I want to apply for spouse visa for my wife. I stay in Canada and I have PR and I hold an Indian passport.
We got married and according to Indian Law got our marriage registered. In the marriage certificate my wife name has my surname and on my wife's passport , she has her father surname.
Do we need to change the surname in passport for my wife ? Would like to know the procedure and process how to got about...
