Hi, I am a permanent resident living in Canada. My husband lives in Trinidad. We got married in Dec 2017. We have been in a long distance relationship for 2 and half years.

We would like to put in sponsorship application, however there are 2 document requirements on the checklist that I'm not sure what is needed.

What did people submit for:
1. Important documents for you and your spouse showing that you are recognized as each other's spouse - My husband is listed as my beneficiary on my bank accounts. Will that be sufficient? What else can we provide?

2. Documentary evidence of financial support between your and your sponsor, and/or shared expenses. - We share the cost of travel over the last 2 plus years (hotels, food, flights). We also shared wedding expenses. would these be sufficient? What else can we provide?

Would appreciate any tips or advice.

1. Other good examples include: Beneficiaries of each other's life insurance policies, beneficiaries of other employer benefits.

2. What you have is a good start though they are also looking for day-to-day expenses too. Receipts of money transfers (Western Union, PayPal, etc), Joint/subsidiary credit card.

Others may have more ideas. That was what I used for my wife's application.

Hi vanessa! I would like to ask if you changed your marital status first in your legal documents such as your tax return info before applying for spouse sponsorship?
