Spouse Sponsorship outside of Canada

Hello,

Can a spouse (U.S. citizen) visit Canada (where the other spouse lives) while the sponsorship papers (outside of Canada) are being processed?

If he/she can convince the immigration officer that the visit is only temporary, then yes.

hello iam married to a nepali man we are doing the sponsorship for him to come here i just wanted to know after the applaction is in do i have to go live in nepal until a decission is made or can he come here to wait with me there is nothing on the site about it and i tryed calling but was on wait for so long gave up on the phone thing thanks for any he;p on this matter

as far as i know u dont have to go bak to nepal. The processing will take some time ,After he gets visa he can get pr after her gets to canada. 2 or 3 years after he can get citizenship.

He will need to apply for and be approved for a TRV if he wants to visit Canada while PR app is processing. If the TRV is refused, then he can't come to Canada until he gets PR.

As long as you are a Canadian citizen (and not a PR), you can choose to either be in Canada or Nepal while the app is processed.
