Hi All,

Have a problem was wondering if i can get some advise.
I sponsored a girl with a child from former USSR . She came over 6 month ago already with PR visa.
Two month later she left me (no surprise here)
I simply could not believe that i was used just to get to Canada.
I guess it happened to a lot of guys.
My question is: Can i cancel my sponsorship?
What can be done in my case?

Thank you

From what I hear, if she already got her PR visa, you can't cancel it. You have already signed a sponsor agreement :-[ :-[
Hopefully someone can give more light here....
I'm sorry

Why do you say that you weren't surprised she left you after two months if I may ask?

Well...She showed absolutely no intentions to work or study. Was always on a internet ( i guess looking for work ;))
And in two month she said that this is not a life she was imagining and she can't stay here. But she did. Simple.

Be aware that because you signed the sponsorship agreement, you are financially responsible for her for three years after landing. If she goes on welfare/social assistance during these three years, you will be responsible for paying this money back to the government.

I wonder if you can at least report her so they put a note on her file. By the time she tries to become a citizen then that can at least make things harder for her .

Is there anything that can be done to revoke a PR status?

I don't wanna get even with her. At the end she was doing it for her child. Just want to protect myself.

Sadly no. Just watch out if she goes on welfare, because at that point, the Government would come after you to pay them back.

I am very sorry to hear this but like any relationship, they are not all what they seem to be. This is why the Australian Government has such strict rules which I believe Canada will eventually be following. Spousal sponsorships in Australia are given a 3 year trial period at which time when that 3 years is up the couple will have to go to an interview to report that the relationship is still working. If prior to that time the relationship doesn't work there is no permanent residency to cancel and I imagine the individual being sponsored would be forced to leave.

Do you still have contact with your wife, if you don't mind me asking?
