Spouse sponsorship from India

Hi, I am Canadian permenant resident,I am planning to go to India for almost year,and planning to get married their and apply for sponsorship for my wife.
Is this possible? Can i sponsor my spouse when we both are in india ? Or do i need to be present in canada to do that ?

As a PR, you need to be in Canada to begin the sponsorship process. Make sure you remain in compliance with the RO if you plan to be away from Canada for a year.

Residency obligation. You must be in Canada for 730 days (2 years) in any 5 year period to remain a PR and be eligible to sponsor your spouse.
