I am sponsoring my mother. She is 65 so she will not be able to work here in Canada. She wants to bring her common law partner with her to Canada.
Can she sponsor him as spouse once she is permanent resident even if she doesn't work ( but owns a house here )?

Your mother's common-law partner must be included in her PR app.

What if I applied to sponsor her when she did not have common law yet?

It doesn't matter, her marital status has changed from single to common law. Her partner needs to be added to the application and assessed, if he isn't and she lands as single she won't be able to sponsor him to come to Canada.

Ok, Thanks everyone for the replies.
What if we add he to the application and at one point he decides that he does not want to come, therefore he does not want to get his medical tests done and ect. Will it affect my mother's PR?
Will we be able to remove him from the application and move on or my mother's PR will be declined in this case too?
