Hi everyone,

I am working on my application for spousal sponsorship. I was going through the forms and docs checklist and got worried since the things doesn't look very easy and has found out to have following questions. Please help me figuring out the solution, much love and thanks.

1) IMM5532E _ Relationship Information and Sponsorship Evaluation
PART C - > says that it has to be filled out by THE SPONSOR AND THE PRINCIPAL APPLICANT.

Does it mean that PART C has to be filled by both of them separately like we will have two (one from sponsor and one from principal applicant) different hard copies of PART C?

2) Schedule A - Background Declaration Form and Additional Family Information Form has to be filled by both sponsor and principal applicant? (Like 2 different copies)

3) In Docs Checklist, at the end they ask you to provide at-least 2 out of 4 evidence,

a) Important Docs for you and your spouse showing that you are recognized as each other's spouse (such as employment benefits, insurance benefits)
^ for this; can we use Nikah Nama ?

b) financial support between you and your spouse.
^ for this; if I am sending some money to my spouse, does the amount or the number of transaction matter, coz in our culture husband starts supporting after marriage, so if I send money today, would that one transaction help or otherwise if it has to be multiple transaction, doesn't it take time to submit application?

c) Other relationship that your relationship is recognized (e.g. letters from family/friends)
d) Proof of past cohabitation...
^ can anyone explain for above option, what we can do for it?

4) Employment/Source of Income -> I am working in Ontario, Canada with $30,000/- annually, is there any problem with this salary? Secondly, how much amount to be shown in the bank account?

Please help me for these question, would love to hear your precious feedback.

Thanks and Regards,

1. you only need one copy of the form....the information provided in PART C should be seen as a joint statement from both sponsor and applicant.

2.
Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669)
You (the principal applicant) and any of your family members 18 years of age or older (who are not already Canadian citizens or permanent residents) must fill out, print, and sign a this form.

Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)
Who needs to fill out this form?
This form must be filled out and signed by:
  • The principal applicant,
  • All dependent children aged 18 or over (whether coming with you to Canada or not).
3. evidence of financial support is not mandatory and at least one transaction will be enough to show support

letters from family/friends......the letter may be written by one close friend and at least one close family member from both sponsor and applicant family.

proof of cohabitation is only required if you are currently living together.....may be any document to show sponsor and applicant lived together which may be documents like shared rental agreement, mails received in same home address, etc.

4. There is no problem with the salary......and sponsor does not need to show a bank account balance......may provide employment letter....refer checklist.

Note: In most cases, there is no low-income-cut-off (LICO) for spouse, partner or dependent child sponsorships.

Thanks a lot for your beautiful reply. For Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) and Additional Family Information (IMM 5406), whatever you have answered, I have seen the same in the docs checklist but if you open both of the documents, it says ;

"The principal applicant, his or her spouse or common law partner, if applicable, and all dependent children aged 18 years or older listed in the application of permanent residence must complete their own copy of this form."

Can you please clarify me on this as well?

Thanks much.

Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669)
You (the principal applicant) and any of your family members 18 years of age or older (who are not already Canadian citizens or permanent residents) must fill out, print, and sign a this form.

The form is also used for other immigration applications where the applicant could have a spouse as dependent.

For spousal sponsorship, only the principal applicant (PA) and any PA dependent children 18 years of age or older are required to fill out, print, and sign a copy of this form

I have another question, would be thankful for your precious answers.

1) Do we need to send/mail original docs (Nikah Nama, Nadra Marriage Certificate and Family Registration Certificate) coz it's not clear in the country specific requirement for Pakistan.

Thanks,

Pakistan – Instruction(s) for documents
  • Identity and civil status documents issued by Pakistan: Documents must bear the name of the applicant, and be endorsed by the government authority responsible for issuance in the district in which the event took place.
    • For marriages which took place in Pakistan: The marriage certificate to be submitted is the “Nikkah Nama”. It must bear the Nikkah registry seal as evidence that the marriage has been properly registered by the union council or the relevant government authority in the relevant region. The NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) issued marriage certificate should be included but is not sufficient evidence on its own.
    • Divorces obtained in Pakistan: If a divorce has been obtained in Pakistan by a sponsor residing in Canada, submit evidence that either party of the divorce resided in Pakistan for at least one year prior to the divorce. Alternatively, you may submit evidence that either party to the divorce had a substantial connection to Pakistan such as frequent visits, property ownership, and/or active businesses in Pakistan.
    • Divorce certificates issued in Pakistan must be issued by the relevant union council or government authority. The NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) issued divorce certificate should be included but is not sufficient evidence on its own. You must include the Certificate of Talaq issued by the relevant Union council. In the case of Khula, you should also include the decree of Khula issued by the Family Court.
    • Non-Muslims should provide marriage and divorce certificates from the relevant authority responsible for registration.
    • Affidavits to establish marriage, divorce, death and custody are not acceptable.
Note: Failure to submit marriage or divorce certificates with conform to the Muslim Family Law Ordinance of 1961 may lead to the delay and possible refusal of your application.

  • For applicants under the spousal category: If you were married according to the rites, customs, and/or traditions of this country, please submit printed photos of the principal applicant and the sponsor with relatives and friends. Photos submitted should include photos of the wedding ceremony (signing of the contract or Nikkah) and customary celebrations held afterwards (the wedding reception or the Rukhsati). Photos should also include pictures taken of the principal applicant and the sponsor together on other occasions, either before and/or after the wedding.
  • Note: Ensure that all photographs are clearly labelled in English or French with the names of the persons appearing in the pictures, the date the photo was taken, and the occasion or event displayed in the photo.

Only nikkah-nama and marriage registration certificate should be sent original. And make sure nikkah-nama has been translated or is in English and bears the seal or stamp of local union council.

Hello Everyone,

Has anyone of you have seen the new documents checklist? It has a weird point which indicates you must have to provide certified translations of proof of contact of documents that are not already in English or French. (Like chats, email etc) How could we do that? It's something personal and informal, how is someone going to translate it? Can anyone help please?
