Spouse sponsorship Abu Dhabi office

My application was first received by CIC Mississauga on October 6, 2016. I was approved as a sponsor on November 10, and my application was transferred to Abu Dhabi Visa Office by December 18, 2016. We got a request for a police certificate on January 19, 2017, and my hubby sent one a few days later by courier...by like January 24 our background changed to "In Progress" and it's been that way ever since...
MyCIC still says "document requested" and never updated, but we know they received it because it says that they did on our notes.
Not sure how much longer we are going to be in background check but I hope it finishes ASAPPPPP




abdwebus, I meant that background check is still in progress, it is the same check you are seeing not anything new

Application was received by CPC Mississauga on March 2016, it's been 15 months and still no decision made!!! Passed it's processing time on cic website (12months) and last email ADVO sent me that background check is handled by Canada and not their office!!!!

Background check says: we are processing your background check
Doesn't say in progress!!!!!!

Yes lol the old site used to say in progress, but now after they changed up the MyCic site it now says they are processing the background check..still the same thing

I want to know if new applications from the gulf area ( kuwait , qatar, Saudi, uAE, bahrain, oman) are still sent to abu dhabi vo in 2017. I have noticed some applicants from Dubai and Saudi sent to london vo. Is this a new development?

If you are from Pakistan or India, then your application will most likely go to London VO otherwise it will be processed by Abu Dhabi.
Recently they started processing some applications in Ottawa but it depend on you nationality.
They are trying to distribute the applications evenly to reduce wait times

Today my MP contacted me and they told me that my wife's application has new updates.
Eligibility: passed
Criminality: passed
Medical: passed
Security: in process since April 2017

So hopefully soon we'll hear something good

Did she had to repeat medical test?

How long usually it takes in case they asked to repeat medical to request passport!!! In case the asked my husband to repeat it later.

Yes they requested a new medical back in February so her medicals are valid till next year

I heard many cases with ADVO where people submitted their PP and it took them between 2 weeks to 1 month and a half sometimes to get their passport back. How did you send it? VFS or DHL ?

I heard once they requested medical to be done shortly after they will issue visa!! Is this true? I know ur wife case is different cause she is already in Canada as a visitor
But do u know anything about that!

I heard the same thing
When they request a new medical then they should be at the final stage and they should issue the visa soon after that but in our case it is different.

Hopefully all of us will hear something good soon.
