My hubby said tht u need to go to the immigration office in ur local area and ask how can u extend the visa? They will do it for ur baby.. u can also get d baby to be under ur sponsorship.. just a visit to immigration of uae is required..

You mean local immigration office in Abu Dhabi/Dubai ? But I dont have a residency in Dubai and from what I know is, once a women is married in Middle East she should change from Father's Sponsorship to her husbands sponsorship - but I do not live or work there ! So how would I sponsor her or the baby. Any thoughts ?

Yeh what you say def makes sense - lets see how it goes by end of December. My most worrying stuff is about my child who only has visit visa in UAE for 30 days, as my wife is sponsored by her father, and she cannot sponsor the baby. So the longer it takes, we have to find a way for the child's visa.

Hi Impresso. hopefully you will get your application finalized much ahead of that. you might need to do a visa run to oman border with the baby and re-enter.

you can not sponsor your baby if you do not have UAE residence visa. for your wife to sponsor the baby she needs to have a job in one of the selected fields, and after three months of bank statement showing her salary she can sponsor the baby, otherwise easy solution is exit to Oman and re-entry.

Hey Bonty - Thank you for the reply. Yeh thats what our plan is, as baby was born in America, she gets a 30 day visa upon arrival - so run to oman would be the option if we cannot arrange for a 3 months visa for her.

Yup - that is what is known to me too, that an individual, needs to working and be a resident of UAE, in order to sponsor a wife or a child. Are you aware of the 3 months visit visa process ?

You can request immigration office in UAE for the extension of stay upto 3 months, Re-entry is subject to 30 days exit from the country once your 3 month period is expired. visa run to Oman (preferred at Hatta) has no restriction, you can go back and forth as many times as you want.

Thanks for the advise bonty - def a good point to keep in mind. Howz your stay in Canada going ? Enjoying the cold winds ?

Hey Guys - I will be taking over updating the spreadsheet from JenPin. Do let me know if there are any missing updates for anyone and I shall do my best to keep track of things.

Thank you

That would be a great service, Impresso. May God be with you, always.

Does anyone know how much time will take to receive the passport for visa stamping? My passport was received on 24th November by ADVO. Up to now I haven't got any call from Aramex for any shipment. Kept on calling them but they did advise me that there's no request received from ADVO for my passport's delivery. Was just worried coz I will be flying on 9th January and need to cancel my residence visa which will take 7 - 10 working days. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!

Hello llij21 - I think few members faced similar issue and they kept emailing ADVO for some update, including case specific enquiry to at least obtain a tracking number from ADVO to locate the aramex package. I believe JenPin personally went to the Embassy explaining to them the situation and then was asked to come back later in the afternoon to pick up the passport.

Hope this helps.
