If it has been a year since you did your medicals, then ADVO will definitely ask you to do it again. As I heard that medicals have to be valid for at least 2 months when they are ready to stamp your PR visa in the passport. My medicals expired yesterday; I did it on 26th August last year. So now I am waiting for the request to do the medicals again :( and hopefully after that I will get PPR soon

Yes that makes things clear - We are expecting our first born in Nov, so I guess she will have to do the medical again, after the child birth . Once you get your re-medical its basically in the last stage I believe.

Don't worry too much. In my understanding this could only mean that your application is pretty complete and they don't need any additional documents from you. In your case I would give them another month before getting worried...

I got SA on Oct 29th and AOR and ADR on 29th Jan. Exactly 3 months. Be patient, you will hear soon

Thanks so much.. but see, you got your AOR only 3 months after your SA.. It's been way over that for us :(

And don't they ask for additional documents anyways and always regardless how complete one's files are? I mean won't they want proof of correspondence between the husband and wife in the time after the application was made?
Just curious, has anyone ever gotten a PPR without additional documents being requested?
Plus, don't most police certificates expire within 6 months, so I imagine they might want a new police clearance certificate too in that ADR when it comes?

Sorry about asking so many questions to all you guys.. Thanks for all the help..

Hi, I am new in this forum. My wife applied for me from Canada. She has been living in Canada from 1993, and it is more than three years, I am in Abu Dhabi. We married in March, 2014 in Bangladesh.
Case Processing Centre Mississauga received our application on 18th June 2014, and 15th August 2014 they send Sponsorship Approval email to my wife. In Same letter they mentioned that my application has been forwarded to Abu Dhabi Visa office for further processing. I also completed my medical in March 2014, and they received it
Can anyone please tell me what will be the next step, and normally how long it will take?

Generally, CIC extends the medical date by approx 2-3 months even after its expiration. ( refer: few members posts here)

Hey AMJ,

I was wondering if you tried writing to ADVO regarding your file. Though the average processing time online says 15 months but the AOR that I received from ADVO clearly says 6 to 12 months.

Did you get an AOR from ADVO?

Hi there,

If you see the spreadsheet in my signature, some applicants havent received AOR/ADR and gotten a PPR right away.

The ADR is sent only if the ADVO requires information that has not been provided. In my case, they asked for proof that the PR sponsor is living in Canada (I did submit my sponsor's offer letter, payslips, lease agreement and rent receipts alongwith the initial application) and I provided his tax documents & 3 recent payslips and they asked for complete copies of all pages of all passports held since 2010.

And though PCC's issued in UAE expire in 3 months, I havent heard for new certificates being requested on expiry of the old ones. I believe the PCC should be valid when the file is submitted to CIC.

Dont worry about the questions. Keep them coming, we are all in this together!

Dear Ashik14 and Nainanaina,

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your application!

You can refer to the spreadsheet in my signature which has the timelines of the members of this thread. When you get an update please do let post it on the thread so that the spreadsheet may be updated.

OK. I m waiting for SA. Will update soon

Wat ADR and PPR Stands for?

ADR = Additional Document Request
PPR = Passport Request ( I guess not sure)

hey jenpin,
did you apply for caips notes yet?

My sponsor will be applying for it this week. Will let you know when I receive it.

Its so frustrating that people who applied after us in 2014 are getting their visas and we still have no clue what's happening. ???

What additional documents did you have to submit??

really, people who applied after us are getting visas? i thought the people even before us did not get them yet?! its crazy because the additional doc request was in march and we sent the police certificate and proof that we will be residing in Canada after PR.
