Application sent to Mississauga CPC : 14th March 2014
Application Received by them from Courier: 17th March 2014..

That's all so far. Sorry, I've only just applied a week or so ago..

Waiting for AOR from Mississauga CPC and Sponsorship approval. Got nothing yet, but my understanding is that it'll take a month or so from the time they receive my package.

Thanks so much JenPin!
Appreciate the welcome and the addition to the spreadsheet.

Just a question, is there any other older spread sheet with more people who have gotten their PR Visa approved? I'm asking as I want to get an idea of the timeline for the whole process..
Thanks.

Hi,

Yes there is but it was password protected and we couldn't edit it hence we started a new sheet.

It should be there in one of the earlier pages nut sure where though. The average time taken earlier was around 7 to 10 months if I remember correctly.

Hopefully the average time remains the same or is reduced for applications now. Don't want to wait too long! :(

Hi everybody,

I'm new in this forum. I've some questions concerning those applying via Abu Dhabi. For the residency questionnaire question 3 & 4:

3) If your sponsor is not living in Canada, please explain why and when he/she intends to return to reside in Canada once your visa is issued. Please provide as many details as possible.

My wife currently resides in Canada.

4) What preparations have you and/or your sponsor made for your move to Canada? Prior to finalizing your application, we will require proof that your sponsor will return to Canada to live permanently. Should you wish to provide a documentary proof in support of your answers at this time, this may assist the Visa Officer in processing your application.

7) Will you and your spouse be both moving to Canada and reside together permanently?

8) Will you, the principal applicant, cancel your Gulf residence visa?

What is the best answer for the above questions. I really need answers so that i can submit my application. Thanks

Hi Angelaehis,
these are very important questions because they will help the officer determine if you will go to canada or just get the PR and stay abroad.

3) this question only applies to those who have sponsors NOT living in canada.
4) for preparations you can provide any of the following :
Show them that your sponsor has prepared for your arrival :
- has bought furniture (show receipts)
- has bought a home ( show proof)
- has emailed any one regarding a mortgage for you
- has emailed anyone regarding any preparations for you (maybe she has asked someone about your job prospects)
- if you will live with family, get a letter from the family member saying, we are expecting him to come, we are very excited and we have made a new bedroom for them or we have finished our basement to accommodate them etc etc
- also send proof that your wife has establish a life there in preparation for your arrival (ie opened accounts, gotten a credit card, drivers licence)

Show them that you are preparing to go
- any email correspondence with anyone regarding your new life in canada (example, talking to someone about english classes, talking to any recruiters, talking on any forums about your new life there and questions to prepare yourself)
- any proof of funds that you send to your wife for as long back as possible.

7) YES, you must say yes and you MUST move to canada. this is a requirement, however they can only make you stay in canada 2 years of the first 5 years.
so you could say...i will not go immediately, but i will go after 6 months (or whatever) but then you would have to give a darn good reason why.
dont let them think that you dont want to go and will just take the PR and stay abroad (and hopefully that is not your intention!)

proof proof proof.
send anything that will help make the officer believe that you are going to go to canada and your spouse will remain there.

guys... useful tip... this only applies to whoever communicates with the ADVO through gmail... so basically, i found a way to track ur email read... this idea was first given to me by Asim (in this forum).. so i dun deserve the full credit for this... so the idea is that once you send an email to ADVO, you can track if your email was opened/read or not by the recipient... go to google chrome appstore and add it to your google chrome browser.. u have to make sure you are signed in to your gmail and you have to have google chrome on your pc.. needless to mention, you will be doing all this on your google chrome web browser... follow this link:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/streak-for-gmail/pnnfemgpilpdaojpnkjdgfgbnnjojfik?hl=en

once you have added the plug-in to your chrome, you have to go to: http://www.streak.com/ and click on "streak installed. go to gmail" and it will take you to your gmail inbox with streak installed to your gmail... take the free tour and it will assist you on how to use it.. let me know if you have any question...

cheers..

that's a great news! congrats to you... what was the last step they asked you to do before they asked for the passport? where are you currently residing? and did they ask you to cancel your RP for the current country of residence?

to answer your questions, i am the principal applicant living in Qatar... my wife is my sponsor and she is currently living in Canada...

Hey, i am the sponsor,
the have asked for me to cancel my UAE visa. and get a letter from my employer acknowledging my resignation.
i think they will ask for him to do another medical because he did his last year.
they have not asked my husband to cancel any gulf visa and will not, because the applicant only has to live in canada for 730 days in the first 5 years. there for they cannot force the applicant to live in canada immediately, as long as you go there during the time the entry visa is valid.
however, it builds a stronger case if you provide proof that you will go immediately.

great info.. thanks... so its kinda mandatory for YOU (as the sponsor) to leave the country and cancel the RP but for the applicant its not a mandatory yeah?

Yea Canadianindubai

In your case you are working and have visa from the company on resignation they will cancel your visa but if you are sponsored by your husband or wife you have to cancel the visa for both, they have written email they need confirmation to cancel residency of the current country or else you can withdraw you application and apply when you are ready.

Also, Maybe you have to define them that why you don't want to cancel the residency appropriate reason.

"If your sponsor is currently residing outside of Canada, we will require satisfactory evidence that they will reside in Canada once you become a permanent resident. Satisfactory evidence would include: copy of cancelled residency permit (in the Gulf); copy of resignation letter showing that it has been accepted by your sponsor's employer; evidence that "end of contract" benefits have been paid; and so on. This will be required before a permanent resident visa can be issued. If your sponsor does not believe that they will be ready to move to Canada when your permanent resident visa is issued, then you may wish to consider withdrawing this current application. Your spouse could then submit a new sponsorship when they are prepared to move to Canada."
