Hi all,

My wife's permanant residency is almost complete and they are asking for her passport which states
Ensure that your passport is valid for at least 12 months from the date of this letter.

Her passport has 10 months remaining and she can get it renewed in 2 weeks but the problem is the new renewed passport will have a new passport number according to her in philippines, which we are worried that we may have to resubmit the application with this new renewed form number stuff.

Has anyone here just submitted their application without the 12 months validity with no issue?

Hi

Many people renew their expiring passport or get a new one because of a name change during the sponsorship process. Nothing needs to be submitted again; IRCC simply updates any changes, no big deal.

Yes, it could be an issue since they have specifically requested 12 months validity. This is not a requirement for every VO. There are threads specific to most VOs, so I suggest you find yours and ask there if anyone else has done this.
