Spouse passport request - important question

I am a PR, working in Canada. My wife is pregnant and she is in India. She did all the medicals except X-ray. I have already sent the medical report and explained the pregnancy situation while filing the PR application. The due date is around Jan 2013.

We received a letter to submit her passport. Is it Ok to send her passport ?? because looks like, Delhi consulate might not have opened my application, and don't know about wife's medical condition.
If she sends her passport, how will she be able to complete X-ray and not sure if her passport would be required at later stage while applying
for baby's sponsorship.

Can anyone guide what to do in this situation. Whether to send the passport or not.
Note * : I have already emailed delhi immigration, but no replies from them.

I think you should send it. Maybe she will get her visa right away and be able to have the baby in Canada.. that would be a lot easier then sponsoring the baby once it's born.

Oh really !! Do you think immigration will stamp passport without reviewing the medicals. Are you aware this happened to anyone before?
I am worried of all the paper work to be done after baby's born. Do you know what papers do I need to submit for the baby.

Thanks in advance.

I'm really not sure.. but it seems to me that it would be common sense that a pregnant lady would be exempt from X-Ray. Maybe somebody else knows more. I just thought because the India VO seems to be so quick, maybe you can get your visa in enough time if you sent your passport right away.

Well they won't issue a visa until she has the x-ray. ND wants the passports upfront as they use the original in the background/security checks.

One more thing to consider when you make your decision. Your medical check-up results are analyzed after 3 months. So, VO cannot see the results within 3 months from medical day.

They want the passport, so I'd send it. They probably won't start processing until they get it. They won't finish processing until they get the x-ray: a pregnant woman doesn't have to get an x-ray, but that just means they hold the application until she's given birth and can then get the x-ray.

Hey they won't issue the visa until she gets her X-ray done
N tht wil happen after the baby which means ul ve to apply for baby's Canadian passport if ur a citizenship then ur baby wil b Canadian by birth even born outside Canada.

Also don't exPect a reply from CHC they don't bother to reply but u can try to contact MP in Canada.also I would suggest don't send her passport cuz I'm pretty sure they havent reviewed her file properly yet.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I haven't send her passport as she is pregnant and x-rays are not done. Due date is on Jan last week 2013.

Do anyone know , after baby is born, what formalities I need to do from India, in order to get baby's PR or any visa in that matter.

I sent so many emails to immigration, but they don't reply. Kindly suggest

Regards

You'll have to add the baby to the application as a dependent.

By not sending the passport after it's been requested, you're delaying your wife's PR processing. Delhi always asks for the passport upfront and begins processing after receiving it.

Once the baby is born, send a cover letter explaining the situation, and send updated application forms, a birth certificate, medicals, any other documents mentioned in the forms, and the fee payment for the child's PR. Your wife could get her x-ray done at the same time so that requirement will get completed too.

Once Delhi reviews your new forms, they'll let you know if they need anything further. The additions aren't complicated and shouldn't add much time to the overall process.

At any rate, send the passport right away, and then take the other steps after the baby is born.
Good luck.
