Spouse OWP General Query

I have the following query.
The student is on Study Permit and Spouse is in OWP and currently working. Both permits are valid till November 30th 2022.

Now, The PA with Study Permit has completed the studies and plans to apply for Post Graduate Work Permit next month.(May)

I know that, once the PGWP is received and PA has 3 payslips of NOC B job, the spouse can apply for Openwork Permit extension.

Now the question is, does the spouse with OWP have to stop working as soon as the PA applies for PGWP or spouse can keep working till the OWP is valid?
