Did anyone in this thread apply from India? I am an international student in Canada. My wife applied for Spouse Open Work Permit on April 14, 2021. I am starting to worry after seeing posts saying that the timeline provided in the website is inaccurate and only applicable to health care workers. I really want to know the timeline for applications made from India. Any reply is greatly appreciated.

Applied for SP with SOWP and dependent child on March 1st from India. Biometrics and medical are updated on March itself nothing after that ..

Do you know if SOWP is approved based on when the spouse starts classes?
My wife SP was approved in April and my SOWP is still pending. My wife will start her class on Sept 7. I am wondering if my SOWP can not be approved before or closer to the date her classes actually start. I will appreciate any input since I am new to Canada Immigration processing. Thank you,

I don´t know, I´m in the same boat as you. At this point I don´t have certainty of anything. All I can hope is that as they begin to ease travel restrictions and fall term gets closer they may prioritize our SWOP.

Applied in Janaury 2021, got BIL and updated in January itself, since then no response.

I applied for spouse and child from USA

applied on June 18th, mybiometrics are used from previous visitor application .

spouse biometrics done june 21, he be needing a medical exam but it’s still showing not needed no request yet.

Our eligibility review started on July 3rd. No medical request no BVL yet. It’s confusing

I heard that the written Letter of Authorization was needed to be allowed to fly to Canada ( some Airlines were asking for it). Then I think I read somewhere that it was not needed anymore as long as you are exempted from restrictions but I´m not sure. In my case it was weird cause I got the letter of Authorization to travel before I got my OWP approved. I think you should ask through a web form just to make sure.
