I am planning to apply for a open WP for my wife online. I was checking the IMM 5710 in the below link and it asks me to fill details of the prospective employer. But my wife does not have any offer letter. Can I write as "not applicable" in this section? Did anyone

When I was applying online for a open WP, it asked me to fill schedule 1 but I checked the below link which does not say anything about schedule 1. Can someone please clarify.

When I called CIC , they told me that paper application document check list is different from online check list. If it is asked in online application as supporting doc you hav to give it. if it is as optional doc you do not need to give that.

Does anyone have an experience with the Digital photo when applying for an open WP online. I have a picture taken. Can I just upload the scanned copy of that picture while applying online for an open WP?
Yes, just make sure the pixels provided on CIC match the requirement.

I tried to scan and upload the picture but the size of the photo was less than 60 KB. As per CIC guide lines, the photo size should ideally be 240KB. I had to go to Blacks and spend $32 for a soft copy. ???

Hi Chandan,

As you have already submitted online. What documents did you upload for the following:

Family Member Proof of Status
Help from the CIC Site: You must provide a copy of your family member's Canadian citizenship or Canadian immigration status document (e.g., Canadian passport or Permanent Resident Card). Please copy both sides of the document.

Proof that you meet the requirements of the job being offered
Help from the CIC Site: If your intended occupation in Canada is regulated, provide evidence that the responsible provincial, territorial or professional body has granted you the required licence or certification.Regulated occupations are also called professions, skilled trades or apprenticeable trades.

Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Family Member Proof of Status---> I submitted copy of my closed work permit
Proof that you meet the requirements of the job being offered ----> I was not given this option, isn't this part of the IMM5710E ???? (If so this portion is not applicable)

Lastly, I also submitted the optional Explanation letter, stating the eligibility as per CIC's website Additionally within that document I included my Employment Letter, latest pay stub, and my Marriage Certificate.

Thanks salzafar.

I called CIC today and they informed that they are having lot of issues with the new online system for WP extensions. They suggested to go with the Paper appln instead of online ???

Anyhow I was able to get rid of "Family Member Proof of Status" attachment after changing the answer to "No" for the following question in the initial questionaire.
Are you accompanying a family member who has status in Canada?
No

Thought this might help others in future.

Regarding "Proof that you meet the requirements of the job being offered" - I guess you have an LMO and that's why you didn't get this. I don't require a LMO. May be I have to attach this.

Hi

I have uploaded open work permit of my spouse as status of Family member. As Proof that you meet the requirements of the job being offered, I have attached my Ph.D certificate because when i called CIC they suggested me to upload this. As I am exempted from LMO, I have also included an explanation letter stating that I am exempted from LMO.

Other docs were

Passport
Marriage certificate
Employment letter

The scanner I used had an option to select the size and pixel of desired quality. So i just used those options.

PCKUMAR, why do you want to answer "No" to that question?
Are you accompanying a family member who has status in Canada?
No

Here is the help from the CIC site regarding this question:
Accompanying a family member means you will be staying with a family member who is already in Canada as a visitor, worker or student.

Accompanying family member: A spouse, common-law partner, dependent child or grandchild of someone who is still dependent on their parent, who plans to immigrate to Canada with the principal applicant. Accompanying family members are included on the application.

Based on this I assume that the answer would be YES if the application is only for dependant spouse or child who would like to accompany the principal applicant. I don't know whether I understood this correct or not.
