Sowp inland.

Applied : March 8
Approved: June 7.

All the best and good luck everyone.
Congrats! I also applied March 8 within Canada and resubmitted finger prints on May 15 since last time's quality is low. Up until now there is no updates.
Does anyone could help how long it usually takes for background check after finger prints?
Thank you!

Hello everyone,

Me and my wife have an express entry profile for PR under CEC Inland going on.

Invitation received for PR : 23rd Jan, 2019
AOR : 1st Feb, 2019
Got Married : 9th March, 2019
My medical passed : 17th March, 2019
Spouse Added : 28th March, 2019
Additional Documents submitted : 27th May, 2019
Wifes medical passed : 4th June, 2019
Both our Criminality, Security & Background check : Under processing
Visa Office : Calgary
PR days remaining : 54

So thought to apply for my wifes visitor visa which got rejected in 6 days as not enough ties to the home country.

Now we have applied for Spouse Open Work Permit from India itself online application on 6th June with Wife’s Medical & Biometrics upfront.

Any idea about the timeline as application from India for SOWP is showing 5 weeks.

Any comments from the experts will be appreciated.

Thanks and all the best to all!

Considering the processing timeline, is it a good idea to apply for SOWP from country of residence?
Hello Guys,
Thanks for your support and help.
My SOWP application got approved today. I applied on 5th March, 2019 within Canada.

Now I have one doubt. I have visitor visa and work permit of Canada. My consultant said that I don't need work visa stamp on my passport.
Is it require to do work visa stamping on passport?.

Thanks again for your support. I really appreciate it.
Congratulation !!
My husband is travelling on SW1 visa and we are confused as to how to go about for processing my open work permit and dependent visa for our kid.
We can start the process once we receive the enrolment letter from the college and is it a good idea to process the dependent n Sowp from India or should we enter Canada with the visitor visa and later convert to owp?
Please share your opinion.

I would recommend to apply SOWP from India so you don't need to take visitor visa first.
It's same process of SOWP application even you apply from India or Inland Canada.

According to the website, processing time inland is shorter than that in my country.

Anyone has any idea about the starting point of background check? After biometrics?
How many weeks it takes after finger prints?
