When I checked on CIC processing times for Bangladesh Work permit, it has changed from 9 weeks to 8 weeks yet I hear that a few February applicants did not receive any updates yet. Any idea? Why would they say 8 weeks then?

My wife is doing her MBA in Montreal. I am planning to apply for SOWP for myself. I am currently working in the US.
I am not well versed in French. Is it a requirement to get the CAQ?
Can I apply for any other state(say Ontario) in my form?

It is really frustrating guyzzz...they are not working on the existing files and they keep increasing the processing time...
I don't think you need to need to get CAQ. But I am quite sure that you also need to apply in Quebec only, so cannot apply else where.
Hey. It is funny because for us, in Bangladesh, it became 8 weeks from 14 weeks. I am really not getting it.

Its the average for all kinds of work permits. open, lmia based closed permits, sowp.... sowp has least priority, and takes more time to verify all the docs.
CIC processing time just shows the average time of the cases, it depends and varies from case to case

I have a couple of questions for you. As, I am doing my master on scholarship from Canada. I recently got married in December 2016. Now, i want to apply open work permit for my wife from Pakistan. Therefore, I have following questions:
1. How to write a strong explanation letter? If you have any sample letter then could you please share with us.
2. Which documents should include except these (Scholarship letter,bank statement,Marriage certificate,Wedding photos,property documents, PCC, and Part time job letter).
It will be appreciated to answer these questions.

1. Yes, you have to write a strong explanation letter
2. Passport Copy of Both Husband and Wife, NIC Copy of Both Husband and Wife,
- If you dont have enough bank statement, you can show your parents total assets for financial support.
- Marriage Certificate means Nikkah Nama as well as from NADRA both needs to be submitted
- Choice is you can either apply Online or Paper-based, average processing time as shown on cic website is 15 weeks.
