As you have mentioned here that your PR application is in progress, I don't think they would deny SOWP because either way your wife and kid are coming to canada based on your PR application file, there is no point of denying SOWP. Just an FYI: My PR application is also in progress along with my spouse's application. Any other suggestions are welcome from the quora.

Cheers

Suggestion from the forum (not Quora ;))

To the Original poster, No having both a PR as well as a temp work / study permit application in process isn't any issue. There is an official detail of this called "Dual intent".

However, having a PR in process does not have any impact on temp residence application. It will still be evaluated on its own merit. This is also described in details of dual intent.

So strong ties are still needed. Although it doesn't have to be assets or properties. Even if the applicant has had decent education / past work history, that would serve as a strong tie. If the applicant / spouse is a non working house wife, even then the principal applicant's profile is considered to be the grounds.

CIC's whole intent is to see whether there are any chances of your over staying illegally. If you have had a good living / work / profile in home country, that would serve the purpose.

FKL Thank you,

I did contact after 2 months and they said its under processing,so I can't bother them again. It can cause a negative impact on the officer. Only thing i can do is to wait.

Hi Amit,

Youc an getmore information from this link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/work.asp?countrySelect=IN#applications

You can apply your own and may not need a representative so ignore the form for the same.
Now if you aare planning to apply from inside India you only have to fill the IMM1295 Form.

You do need to get a letter of employment just because it can show your strong ties to home country. It all depends on your convenience. If you want you can apply online from Canada but again your application will get processed in India only as India is your country of residence.

For online or paper based?? You have to think wisely consider the processing times for both and then apply. My husband personally applied paper based. He lives close to Chandigarh but due to long processing time he went to New Delhi and submitted his application there. So consider these factors if you do care about the processing times. Other than that you can apply however you want. However the reason we choose paper based was it gives you more flexibility to attach as many supporting documents you want. Whereas for online you have some limitations.

You can message me here on the forum or post your inquiries here. There are a lot more experienced people like @FLK and others, all will try their best to help you out!! Hope it helps

oh okay, I thought quora means question (qu) or (or) answer (a), I thought it is a question-and-answer website where questions are asked, answered, edited and organized by its community of users.
