Does the wp extension have the same expiry as the pgwp even if you've filed separately?

I applied for PGWP (inland) and SOWP (outland) together. I've been informed that the SOWP application is being processed in Edmonton. Anyone having similar situation here?

I assume you sponsored him for PR inland and included an OWP with the sponsorship application?

Processing times seem to be around 8 months right now but some are getting them sooner. It's hard to guess.

Hi,
Please guide me through my situation.
My spouse has applied for Student visa(SDS Stream). The application includes me(SOWP) + our kid(Visitor Visa). Following is the timeline of our application:

• Submitted on : 23rd May '22
• Biometric done and updated on the profile: 27th May '22

but, since then our application status is same as it was upon submit (only biometrics have been updated). Not even the eligibility review had started.
Now, our deadline to provide Visa evidence to the college is 1st Jul '22, but it doesnt seems like the application would be completed before July 1st.

Q1) what can we do in such a situation?
Q2) what happens in the case where the visa application gets approved after missing the college deadline(July 1st )? admission gets cancelled? or the student gets transferred to the next session?

our impression was that SDS application would get processed in 20 business days. Now I see on the forum that there are significant delays.

Please guide.

Get new LOA and update application through webform. Also your SOWP and visitor visa may not be processed at the same time as study permit. How old is your child? You should have applied for study permit if of school age.

My kid is just 1.5 yrs old hence Visitor visa.
When u say get new LOA, u mean for the next session.(our current enrollment is for fall 22, should we get new LOA for winter 23 session? Or u meant that the college could issue LOA for fall 22 with new deadline dates?)

Not sure about college giving new dates etc

You must defer the program to next available intake, confirm your seat and attach the new LOA to application

In a situation where someone has a 4 year visitor and wants to apply for sowp (spouse's study permit is valid for 2 years) , what will happen ?
Will the sowp (2 years validity) cancel the validity of the 4 visitor's visa or what will happen?
