Meds req: 18th October
Meds Done: 4th November
Confirmation email : 7th December

Applied from Pakistan, visa office Abu dhabi

i have read your post.My husband is in ALBERTA.He is also international student.He is waiting for AINP.he has work permit till June 2017.Recently he received mail to add spouse name in AINP and also pay stub.hopefully he ll receive AINP in Januay 2017,so he has planned to extend his work permit.
I'm in India and i have 3 years experience in IT firm.
my question is,
*Am i eligible to apply SOWP,if it so what are the douments to be submitted?
*how long the processing time ?
*can i get the positive result ?
*do i need to show funds ? if it so how much ?
*can i apply once he receives AINP or now itself because he has work permit till June 2017
OR
after he receives extension of work permit only i can apply ?

Hello, From what I understand regarding your situation is that you husband has a work permit till June 2017:

1)Yes you are eligible for SOWP as far as your husband has a job (For SOWP of workers they have to have a certain NOC level job to qualify please read previous posts from others to find out about that as I am a student I dont have much idea)
2) processing time you can check here http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/times/index.asp they are different for everyone
3)positive results totally depends on your entire case
4) Funds vary from person to person if your husband has a decent job then he can show his funds but I would recommend you to show atleast 10000 Cad from your side..
5) I have no idea about AINP better ask some other expert.. I have information about SOWP

Documents to support your application can again vary from case to case.. Just keep in mind that you have to satisfy VO that you would be leaving after your intended stay, you or your husband have sufficient funds to cover your stay, your marriage is legitimate, you have a place back home where you can go after you leave from here, your experience, you have some travel history (that would help strengthen your case but not essential), if you have any IELTS or toefl (again this would strengthen your case but not essential)

I am worried because it was rejected 3 times. I just have one question. Medical request means my file is in positive way??

Does anyone know after getting SOWP if one needs to get a Labor card from their country? I was told the home country's immigration officer might look for it.

This could very well be true. Every country has a different regulation around it.

But please understand that this is tied to your home country, not Canada.

For instance i am from Pakistan. Every one who intends to leave Pakistan on a work visa (student, visitor or permanent resident does not count) needs a stamp from the office of protectorate on his passport.

That is a long process (2-3 days), requires you buying some insurance, getting yourself a National ID card for overseas citizens of Pakistan and get some training from a government department (regarding how to behave in a foreign country and what will be your rights)

Without that stamp, you cannot board a flight as a worker to another country from Pakistan.

I assume the above is for another country, but similar stuff.

So please confirm and get it done.

I have one more doubt. Our SOWP and SP is approved. The approval mail says, "You must seek entry to Canada to obtain your study/work permit by 2018/09/15 (yyyy/mm/dd)." My course starts next year June. My question here is that, since no start date is mentioned, can my husband start searching for job now itself and join immediately if he gets an offer?

*can i apply SOWP when he applies for work permit extension ?
*is SOWP will be rejected when i apply after he receives work permit extension ? because mostly my husband ll apply for extension by may month.so once he receives he ll be in the middle of PR process.does it affect my SOWP ?

Sure you can. The above is the max date, not min. The only thing is that you being the primary applicant have to land and get your SP along with your spouse or before. But he cannot go alone with you coming latter.

Say your husband gets a job offer tomorrow and you both land next month. Even if CBSA asks you why you are landing 6 months before your study program, you could say because your spouse got a job offer earlier.

Also i vaguely remember that a student also gets a part time work permit so you might as well work before that. All you have to do is meet the conditions mentioned on your Study or work permits.

I don't recall exactly but i think he has to have a NOC 0, A or B job offer for you to apply for SOWP

Assuming you are eligible otherwise (see earlier answer), yes you can apply together

As long as you apply for SOWP when he also is on a work permit and has a job offer, it doesn't affect your SOWP. You are not eligible to apply for SOWP once his status changes to a PR (even that would only happen if you were not included as part of his PR application, which i assume is not the case i.e. you are included).

They asked for PPR, it means it has been approved. Don't worry.
Got work permit in June 15th 2016 for 3 years.
