I am totally agree with you....immigration is just became a careless process....I got two refusal for SOWP with stupid reasons. I heard that once they reach target, they just find any reason to refuse entree. So disappointing.
Why did you get refusals? Did yu get your notes?

Hi guys
Now a days CIC is rejecting almost all applications for sowp especially of international students. Basically this facility was started to provide the competitive edge to attract more students globally in the past. But know the situation has changed. Canada is flooded with international students. So, they don't want to grant sowp's to spouses. It seems to be a policy decision to discourage such visa's. Even consultants and lawyers are also facing such refusals. So guys go to public forms such as newspapers like globe and mail and air your grievances to the local politicians by writing your concerns. Otherwise we will keep wasting money and time.

Thanks
kala

You “ may” be eligible, swop was never guaranteed. And I don’t understand what going to a newspaper or god forbid a politician is going to accomplish. The politicians these days have bigger things going on, versus the granting of sowp to foreign nationals

There are plenty of students who have their families approved. Before you claim that students are being misled many are becoming students only to secure PGWP. Most are not genuine students. As previously said there was never a guarantee you could bring your spouse/family. Plenty of people getting married after they get a permit but before they leave to study or returning to get married during their studies and then leaving. Time of marriage was only to try and secure SOWP
Students aren’t innocent people being manipulated. There was a huge increases in students because the UK made it harder to stay after your studies and Brexit, plus the US doesn’t have an easy to a green card and tends to be more expensive. Canada created a path to PR for students that is relatively easy compared to other methods of immigration. Even if you took away the ability to have your spouse/family come with you there will be tons of students who will still apply.
