It doesn't matter where the online application is submitted from, what matters is the visa office responsible for the country of residence of the applicant. Even though your husband submitted your application, its your name that's on the application form. You are the applicant, you live in India so that's where your application is being processed.

According to IMM1295E (OWP outside canada), please refer to option 9. it's not always VAC designated to country of residence can process your application. for example, my wife reside temporarily in different country from her current country of residence.
so, I noticed that all corresponding emails comes from the VAC where she applied.
Yes, even if its online application but you need to specify exactly where are you now , and should link to your travel itinerary explanation.

Country of residence whether temporary or otherwise. I made no conditions on that. If you noticed in my explanation I typed the following "You are in India......" Your correction was unmerited but thank you

Till now no response not even medical request.

Spouse Open Work Permit - Online Application

Hi,
I am in Calgary, Canada working in NOC B category for the past 2 months. I studied Lab technician on 2 years course. but I am Working in Civil Field. Its Permanent job. My spouse applied online for a work permit on 15 Jan, 2015 with the following documents.

i. Application form
ii. Marriage certificate
iv. Letter of explanation (Cover letter)
a. Copy of my visa
c. Copy of my Work permit
d. Copy of my Letter of Employment - In this I mentioned my Job position , annual salary, Permanent full time employee.
e. Copy of my passport.
f. Copy of my bank balance with 12000 $
g. Copy of my 15 days pay slip
v. Photo
vi. Copy of my wife's Passport

But still On 18 March, 2015 our open work permit application was refused for the following reasons.

You have not demonstrated that you meet the requirements of an open work permit under section 205(c)(ii) of the Regulations.

In my next application how do i defend these reasons? Is there any other documents i should add? As per my knowledge my application was refused cause of i did not mentioned my job duties...suggest me proper way..

Hi All,

Just sharing my timeline for SOWP application

Online Application - on 30.12.2014 ( Applied within Canada while spouse in India)
Spouse has 2 previous visa rejections both student and visitor.No representative was used

Medical Request- on Jan 10th 2015
Medical Passed Medicals Done - on Jan 20th
Medicals Passed - on February 4th 2015
Passport Request - February 15th
Passport Submitted - February 19th
Visa Approval - February 26th

The Application was petty simple, uploaded the required forms - added additional documents as a single
pdf at the explanation letter tab (both mine and husbands)

1. did you have a full time permanent job
2. Did you provided travel tickets
3. Did you attach any marriage proofs other than Marriage certificate
4. Did you get the invitation letter notarized?

Hi peeps .. I applied on 22nd January my file was processed at vfs bangalore. Today I got mail that my file has been processed and they have dispatched the passport ..they have not mentioned about approval or rejection so m impatient about it now till the time I receive my passport.. any idea what mail do they when approves or when rejects?

You must have received mail from vfs not Canada visa office.

So unless you open the letter you wont know what happened.If you had done medical before hand then you might have got the work permit with visa in the passport, if not it could be medical request also. Keep us posted.
