Hi there I was wondering if somebody could advise me as my spouse is working in skilled cateogery in Alberta and I am in Canada on tourist visa, I want to apply for open work permit online should I do it under Temporary Resident visa cateogery? And what is the processing time involved?Many thanks for the kind help.
Yes you can apply. You would normally need the Proof of Marriage, Change of Status Form, Passport Copy, A Photograph and Schedule 1 (Optional). In addition to that, your Spouse will have to provide his Work Permit or any document that he has regarding this. You can apply online since you will be in Canada at the time you apply. I recently applied for my Wife. The average time is about 61 Days these days.
