Hi All,

I came to Canada on a Spouse Open Work permit last year and started to work in December. In the meantime, my spouse completed her studies in April this year and applied for a PGWP along with extension for my SOWP. My spouse got PGWP and my SOWP got rejected.

I have visa until end of this year. What options do I have now? My spouse haven't found a job yet.
My profile in Express Entry is opened but I don't expect an ITA until January next year.

You have 90 days from the time your work permit was refused to apply to restore your status. For now you can restore your status to visitor. (You obviously should have stopped working as soon as you received the refusal. If you didn't, stop now.)

Once your spouse has a full time job that falls under skill level A, B or 0 - you can apply for an open work permit.

Alternatively, if you can find an employer who can offer you a full time job and also obtain an approved LMIA, you can apply for a closed work permit.

Hi Scylla,
Thank you for the information, my work permit is valid until December, so can I work until December?
