Spouse of Canadian applied for TRV

Hi,
My wife is a Canadian citizen and I recently applied for Visitor visa (TRV). Submitted biometric on July 19th. I am currently working in USA and my US visa has already expired. My itinerary says visiting Canada for 5 months. What are my chances of approval? Also can I apply for open work permit?

Five months is a long “visit “, as well you say your US visa is expired , but still working in the US, what’s up with that ?
What’s your true intentions here in visiting? Visitors don’t usually request how to apply for a open work permit , when they say they are just visiting. That’s not visiting
Immigration is going to assume you will be coming here to be with your wife and not leave

My true intention is moving to Canada and then look for jobs as an Engineer. I agree with what you said and that is why I am trying to understand will it be refused for sure or is there any chance of approval also.

I mentioned 5 months because TRV usually allows 6 months to stay
