Spouse national ID translated?

Hi,

I am the main applicant. My husband leaves here with me in Greece, (he is from abroad) and he only has photocopy of his ID, in his language, which is different than English. Problem is that I can't notarize a non-Greek document here. What to do?
Us both to send only a photocopy of our ID? Send mine notarized and his just the photocopy? To translate his ID ourselves?
Also my husband has a residency card here. The instructions say to send a photocopy of it. Do we also have to translate this one?

And another question in which I know there is no fix answer. From the moment they receive my application, how long will it take for them to open it for evaluation? The cap is close to be reached and I am very stressed and try to calculate every single day.

Old topic but just in case anyone else is wandering, you can notarize such a document in Greece. But only a lawyer can do it

Consult the relevant embassy with a translation they will confirm that translation matches the original. For this look at the verification section of relevant embassy web or contact them. Regarding evolution of your app, its done on the basis of date NS receive the application.

Thanks for bringing such an old post back up on the surface.
Not that it was such a crucial topic, but it reminded me how stressed I was to fill in the app correctly.
And I am very glad to see another Greek after all this time; thought I was the only one active right now in the forum.

Siddharth_pharma8 is absolutely right! You never know what kind of information will be helpful in the future to anyone, so I suggest to Greeks who want to apply, to do all their translations at the "Μεταφραστική Υπηρεσία" of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
I translated all my documents there, they charge 1/5 than any lawyer (average of 9euros/page and 0,50 for additional copies of the translation), they are fast and efficient and you can use courier or the post office if you are not located in Athens. They translate to and from 26 languages! And that's how I solved the problem of translating my husbands ID. Piece of cake!

p.s. thanks for pointing out that misspelled word azazaz but it's too late to modify that post after all these months. (not that I would bother to, still you got the point, right?)
