Spouse foreign work experience - proof required?

I have entered all spouse's foreign work experience while filling the EE (not yet submitted profile)... and then I noticed on this forum many people are saying that they will ask for a letter to prove this???
Will this letter have to be in the same form as the letter PA has to provide, or can be more generic?

Also, what difference does it make if I say he has no work history? Is it usually better to give the officer more evidence and documentation that the spouse has a good job (although it will not give us any points...) or rather just say no to spouse work experience completely?

All those who said NO to work history of spouse, did anyone get PPRs successfully... I'm worried that it should not be misrepresentation..

thanks

The letter has to be in same format as PA since you might get points for it. If you are not intending to get points for it, I would say do not mention in work history but add it in personal history.

Thank you... and CIC has accepted that? Did people get PPR successfully with that?
Im askig because the wording in the question clearly asks if they have work exp...not if they have relevant work exp..or work exp for points/in canada...so is that deliberate? Could it be that they may want to see to make sure if spouse will also be adaptable?

Can anyone please confirm that it is not misrepresentation to say that spouse has no work experience? or should I acknowledge the work experience and get the letter?

thanks

It is not misrepresentation. Read CIC's definition of misrepresentation to validate this for yourself.

This was the reason I'm concerned:

"If you lie on an application or in an interview with a CIC officer, this is also fraud and a crime."

Just want to make sure that we have people who have got PPR after saying NO to spouse work experience?
I can say yes, but then it seems not worth it to get all the letters and tell all the supervisors that we are planning to apply etc. etc.... its enough that mine have to know about it.

I have the same situation, i decided to provide cic with a generic work reference letter for my wife's experience for reference only as i am not claiming any points for it.

I prefer doing this rather than leaving it out of work experience section.

Relevant to me so tagging along. I would love to throw out some of my spouse's prior experiences from the EE profile (already submitted). It's just a hassle to get some of the LORs (for personal and professional reasons). People with experience please stop by and give us tips.

Also, since there's no points for spouse's foreign work experience, why does CIC ask for documentation proving such experiences? Makes no sense. Unless I'm not understanding the CRS criteria properly. When I created the EE profile, I put my spouse's experiences with the reasonable belief that they won't ask for LORs (since there's not points for spouse's foreign work experience).

Could someone confirm that such LORs are indeed required? There was someone else in another thread who incorrectly was saying LORs for spouse's foreign work experience is required for OINP. But I know that's not true, at least for OINP. But what about post-ITA forms/documentation with CIC? I was assuming the same applies in that instance too (i.e., LORs only required if spouse's work experience is in CANADA). Calling seniors, please respond ???

Okay, I will just go ahead and throw out all of my wife's work experiences from my EE profile and see what happens. If sh*t hits the fan then I shall promptly put the humtpy dumpty back together.

You will be asked for LORs. That's the bad news. The good news is that your spouse adds no points for any experience outside Canada. So you can technically upload any document (including a valid LOR or any employment documentation such as job offer letter, salary revision letter etc. Also including cat memes, random hoaxes and Bieber lyrics) in that placeholder and the assessing officer will award you no points for that section because you don't deserve them.

Whether you leave the experience in there or remove it altogether makes no difference to your application.

Asivad, thanks for the response. I've updated my EE profile (no ITA yet) and now I've answered "No" to spouse's work history. I guess post-ITA forms still ask for spouse's work history and hence will generate upload fields, right? Has anyone really tried uploading placeholder docs in such fields? Please share your experience.

Anyone else in a similar boat? (Besides the OP, of course). Let's congregate here and share what we find or know.

I added my spouse work experience (1 year as dentist) from India without knowing CIC will ask for it during profile creation. After ITA I kept the same in work history and personal history so that both are in sync. Good thing is i could get experience certificate from the Hospital my spouse worked and uploaded in work history even though there is no points claimed for foreign work experience of spouse.

If you think that you could not get experience certificate for spouse work history you can either follow any one,
1) add an explanation under that section stating that the employer is not willing to provide any documents and also clearly mention that you have not claimed any points for it ..
2) or just keep her experience in personal history alone so that nothing needs to be uploaded for work history

I was asked to upload "cat memes" and i did...lol.. jokes aside, i uploaded what was available with me, though i did mention work experience for my spouse. I didnt want to say No (though i could have).

The core problem is the way they framed the question or the programming part. I hope they can fix this issue and save lot of stress.
