Spouse dependent open work permitt from India

Hi Viky,

I have applied my owp almost on same day as yours. I also did paper OWP application through VFS. I got medical request on 22 May and underwent it on 23rd and submitted eMedical info sheet on 26th while actual reports will be sent online by Apollo hospitals within max 1 week time. Now waiting for visa as passport is already with them.

I guess - The reason CHC asking you to go again for medical because they consider pre medicals valid only for 60 days so if your application was approved in this period then chc would not have asked to go again for medicals. I have heard many applicants who did Pre medical got such medical requests again. I suggest you to do medicals again rather than wasting time in showing them older medical proofs etc. Otherwise it may cause further delays. Anyways...hope for the best. Good luck and keep posted your updates.

Hi Shah,

Thanks for your suggestion, I didn't know the validity of pre-medicals as 60 days, hence I mailed them and also sent the proof again through VFS. Let me wait for the feedback from CIC.
Will update it there is any further communication from CIC, all the best for you.

Applied : 01/05/2014
Request for medical :06/05/2014
Medical Submitted :09/05/2014
PP stamped and received :26/05/2014

We applied through VFS Bangalore and it got processed in New Delhi..

Hope the timelines will give idea to the people who are waiting for the visas...

I have one doubt please clear it,

After taking medical test, Do we need to do any thing or the hospital will send the reports to Immigration Office. Or we have to submit in VFS.

The hospital will send the medical reports to the VO normally within 5 working days.

I applied paper application through VFS Ahmedabad on 28th Jan. I believe that it took long time in my case because my representative did mistake on IMM1295 for contact no. & email address both. Later when I realized typo mistakes on such imp fields, I wrote couple of email inquiries to CHC new delhi during April month and subsequently got medical request on correct email id on 22nd May and today got an email of approved OWP finally...!!

We applied from Bangalore through VFS and it got processed in New Delhi. My husband applied for study permit thats how i was able to apply for open work permit.

Hi all,

I am planing to apply for SOWP from India as my spouse is full time student in Toronto. I would like to know if I am eligible to apply? I applied TRV on 13th May, 2014 but got refused.

My Docs - Forms (1295E, TRV schedule 1), Marriage certificate, marriage pics, bank statement, fds, mutual funds, Shares, ppf statement, education certificates, resume, experience letters. Can I show Parents fixed assets such as property? Any other forms and documents?

My spouse docs - College student letter, Passport copy, study permit, bank statement. Do I need invitation letter from my spouse?

Regarding ties in India what documents do I have to produce? Presently, I am not working so dont have tax info.

Please share your experience and knowledge.

I applied OWP along with my Hisband's study permit. It is always advisable to apply together.

Finally got my approval e-mail for SOWP from CIC after 4 long months.
Paper based application at VFS Chennai on 27th January along with passport and medicals.
Additional documents (marriage photos) requested on March 21, medicals requested (again) on May 22.

i have applied for owp from india via vfs bangalore on 2nd june 2014. we got rejected for two times which were online applications.
for this time we included almost all the docs..but many told like paper applications will take long time to process.....very much tensed....hoping for ur reply..
