I am not married so I proceed to question 7.

7. Were there formal ceremonies to recognise/celbrate your relationship, e.g., engagement ceremony, traditional/customary marriage ceremony, commitment ceremony, partnership ceremony, reception, etc?

NO

Explain on a separate sheet of paper.

What do I need to say? There was never none of the above.

In my application I said that there had been no formal ceremonies, but that we intended to get married eventually and that that would serve as our ceremony.

Some questions are a little strange for some, but remember that these forms are intended for applicants from all over the world. Ergo, lacking a ceremony for an applicant from culture A will be much more of an issue than if the applicant was from culture B.

So that is good enough answer then swede? Just say that we plan to get married which we do and am not just saying this! lol. anything else we need to add?

Cheers Swede!

Oh yeh I almost forgot. On IMM 1344 Application to Sponsor and Undertaking page Q 8 Your Marital Status? My Sponsor would check Never Married and Common-law and the date that our relationship started.

THen part b) of that question Do you have a conjugal partner? YES or NO Date relationship started

Would that be the same as common-law details?

The answer would be NO. You are either in a common-law relationship OR a conjugal relationship, not both. Conjugal is a special category for those unable to meet the 12 month co-habitation requirement for commonlaw.
