A son cannot “co-sign”.

If your father is on ODSP that is not considered social assistance but he may be asked to provide proof of funds since he is taking on financial responsibility. Why does your mother not have PR if father does?

12 years ago she was denied PR because of insufficient documents. provided by my dad. and now he is on ODSP which makes things difficult.

Hopefully he has more document to show their relationship now. He will need to show fund via savings or other means. (e.g. letter from you if you are providing them free accomodation and food..etc)

is there anything that can be done?
Where has your mother been living for 12 years and if Canada has she been undocumented since then? How old are you? Did your father have PR or citizenship before getting married?
