Spousal sponsorship

Hi,

I need some reassurance, I have applied under spousal sponsorship and am inland.

Application sent April 2019
AOR 16/7/19
Medical requested 30/10 completed 14/11.

I also applied for an open work permit in this time and should have hopefully received it today or before. I’m using a lawyer and they said they have raised this with IRCC and that can take 2-3 weeks for them to come back.
I’m so desperate to get back to work, and am worried why I haven’t heard sooner, as I was feeling happier having been asked for my medical. My husband and I have been married since feb 2019 and in a genuine relationship and lots of documents and photos to prove it.

Please advise as the lawyer can’t seem to tell me much at this point.

Work permit timelines are currently 4-5 months. As you received AOR in July, I would say you should get your work permit sometime either this month or next.

If you applied in April, you should have received it August or September. You can contact IRCC yourself instead of going through the lawyer.

No I had just come out of an implied status
What do you mean by this? Provide the details of your visas and expiry dates. If you did not have valid status at the time your applied for PR, then the OWP won't be granted in four months - you will have to wait until you have AIP.

I was attempting to enter under express entry but didn’t have enough points. As a few things job wise changed so I had an IEC visa and then a bridging visa, now am processing hopefully through spousal sponsorship

That doesn't actually answer the question. What was you actual status when you submitted the PR/OWP app?
