Hi guys,

I have received my PR and I will be getting married soon. For instance, if my fiance applies for a visit visa prior to our marriage and then we get married outside Canada:

1. Can I go back with her to Canada together and then apply for her PR through Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class?

2. How long can she stay in Canada with the visit visa while her sponsorship process is going on? Is there a maximum stay period in this case?

3. Would this scenario create any issues with her application as she'd enter with me together with the visit visa?

- OR rather is it better for me to enter Canada and not with her and she enters Canada a while later with her visit visa status and then I apply for her. Safer bet?

Overall, comments please on my idea to get to stay with her and get her PR too. Thanks in advance.

Have you used your PR visa to land in Canada yet and officially become a PR? If not - you need to be careful what you do next. If you get married before you come to Canada and officially become a PR - then you MUST return your PR visa to the visa office, let them know you've gotten married, submit the additional paperwork to add your new spouse to your application and then wait for a new PR visa to be issued.

Yes, I know about that. I'm going to land first and then after get married in 2-3 months. Hence, I have questions about the scenario I asked.
