If you get your visa it would be advisable to take the time to go to Canada and complete the landing formalities. If you do that, you are allowed to stay outside Canada up to 3 years in every 5 without losing your PR.

If you let the visa expire without using it, you will have to apply from scratch again. It will not be faster or easier.

If you have a new born and your PR application is in process, you must let them know that you have a new baby. There is no way around that so you should do this as soon as possible.
thanks for the reply Leon, I m sorry I didn't mention that baby is born in Canada and my wife is a Canadian citizen sponsoring me and I m the main applicant!

she has applied for the birth certificate on Friday, hopefully we will get it in 15 days time and i will submit this to CHC-L as soon as possible!

Ok, in that case, it is not quite as important but you should still let them know :)

These may be silly questions, but I couldn't find anyone stating the same idea, that or I just suck at searching :(
Would it be so terrible if I paper clipped groups of photos together like each trip has its own group with a little note stating what is going on in the pictures, I know they stated they want them loose, does that still count as loose? (and yes, the back is still labelled with the names of people in the pictures, and date)
I just want to organize them to make it easier..

Also, my husbands photos that he took (the 8 photos), just wish to clear this up one more time, on the back of one picture is his name and date of birth, correct? It doesn't say in the photo appendix, I have just seen people mentioning those photos.

Anyone have any input on this, it would be so helpful!

Don't paperclip the photos. Loose means nothing binding them together. I had ours arranged chronologically, labeled on the back, and then placed in an envelope so they didn't go all over the application package. Other than that, I didn't group them.

Yes, label one of the photos of the applicant with his full name and DOB. One only.

Hi, Leon. My co-op work permit expires Sep 2011. I have a permanent job NOC B, but my employer will not fill LMO so wont help me get a new work permit. I'm now preparing my PR application under Family Class Sponsorship (My wife is sponsor).
1. I'm looking for ways to ensure that on PR issue date I still have a valid work permit or anyway that I can extend my work permit. Thank you.

Glak...I labeled the back of each family/travel photo and used an envelope to hold them so they wouldn't fly all over. I did paper clip the envelope to a group of related documents.

Similarly, I labeled the individual required photos (one only, of the set) and sent those in a separate small envelope, also paperclipped to the corresponding documents for that section.

That was as close to "loose" as I thought appropriate. I don't believe just paper-clipping them together would count against you, though. I believe what they want is not to have to deal with frames, albums, etc.

My friends, here am I again with my last (I hope) doubt:

The checklist mentions that the application may be refused if a Notice of Assessment (Option C) and computer printouts of all computer slips are not attached.

Well, my husband works with his family and he doesnt have a proof of income (except for an bank account summary). We have a letter from the company saying he works there and how much money he makes.

Question 1: is it enough?

Question 2: Do we really need this Notice of Assessment (Option C) even though the Sponsor (we are oficially married here in Canada) doesn´t have to show a minimum income?

Thanks in advance, folks!

Your husband lives in Canada and doesn't file taxes? He can call CRA and they will issue a letter stating that no Option C is available for the last tax year but if he's not filing taxes, he's got a bigger problem. However, for immigration purposes he can try a letter from his company. But I would tell him to file his taxes before CRA comes after him. It's separate from immigration but you don't want them on your back.

Hi rjesome

No, no... its just that I didnt know I would have to send this document, actually all my application was 99,9% ready to go.
I have his T4 document now but he changed jobs so I will send both papers, the T4 and the letter from his new company right?
Is the T4 really important since it shows his income for last year and for his old job?

Thanks again!

This question is for Charlie

My husband has just received his visa to come to Canada. His sons were on the initial application but we did not pay the permanent resident fee....thought it would be better for him to come first...do we have to go thru the same long drawn out procedure or is there a quicker way. Processing office is Kingston, Jamaica.

Thanks

Jaruby, you know I'm usually on the Kingston, Jamaica thread, right? Good thing I decided to take a look at this thread. I sent you a PM.
