Hi there,

I am a little bit confused with the form 5532 – Part C – Questions 3 & 4.

Q.3: Are you living together now?

For this question, I answered ‘NO’ since I currently live in Canada while my spouse is in our country of origin.

Q.4: If you are not living together, have you visited each other during your relationship?

Our situation here is the following:

I got my PR last year and flew back in my country of origin. During my stay there, I got into relationship, my girlfriend moved to me and we soon got married. We spent almost 6 months living together after our marriage until I went to Canada. We have not visited each other since I left Ukraine.

Does the period when we lived together (before and after our marriage) count as ‘visit’ for this question? Is it OK if I answer ‘YES’ to this question, add the period when we lived together to the table and explain our situation in LOE?

You just say that you were living together for a 6 month duration after you were married, but needed to return to Canada, and haven't seen her since.

Hi

I am a new PR. got married this month. Want to sponsor my wife, a USA green card holder. She also has Canadian ETA with expiry date of July 2020. Staying with me as visitor. She stays 5 months and go back to USA for couple of weeks to keep her visitor status. We are together since January 2018.
Documents are almost ready to apply. I will also apply for OWP for her and I heard it takes upto 4 months for OWP. Me, as a sponsor, has no intention of leaving Canada even for vacation for next 2 years because of career committments.
My question is if I apply inland now, will it be ok if my wife visit USA in March 2019 to go out of canada for a week to keep her visitor status. Will she encounter problems upon re-entry to Canada, considering she have not received OWP by than? But holds valid ETA.

Please advise. Thank you

Hello everyone and happy holidays.
I’m new here and I would like ask something to you guys...
I am an August applicant, I got my OWP approved in Nov 20th. I always had a valid status in Canada (visitor before) and now I am waiting for my PR. Me and my wife, we really need to go to Buffalo for a few hours or a day max. Is it safe to go across the border while waiting for PR? Does anyone did that before? What do you guys recommend?
Thank you,
Rui

There is no guarantee of re-entry and she doesn't need to leave. Applying for the OWP will grant her Implied Status after her current status expires in March.

Probably will be fine but there is no guarantee of re-entry.

Hi,
I have submitted my spousal sponsorship PR application as paper application to Sydney office and it has been received. Now I realized that it requires a hand signature on IMM 5669 and I afraid if my application will be returned after 2-3 months. Is there a way I can send the IMM 5669 alone again to CP center Sydney. Is it advisable. Or should I wait until my application is returned. Please advise.

It will most likely be returned. I think you have to wait until it's returned but im not 100% . A senior member can answer you certainly.

The issue I think is that when they see your application is "incomplete" they won't open you a file I believe, so if you send the form, there won't be a file for them to add it to. Maybe you can call them now and ask them about it.
