Ok thanks for helping it’s much appreciated! But we’re planning to send the application in AFTER she’s in the country, unless there’s other PR fees that you mean we can pay earlier?

It doesn't matter when you are applying. You can pay the full $1040 PR fees beforehand.

hey everyone,

I am a Permanent Resident and I want to sponsor my spouse, but I am currently unemployed now. Can i go ahead and sponsor him by attaching last 2 or 3 years of Notice of Assessment and my bank statement??? Or should I wait for job??
Thanks is advance

There is no requirement to be employed. You need to be able to show IRCC that you can support yourselves in Canada without welfare.

CIC says they process 80% of cases in 12 months. As I understand, you have applied inland, and inland process is usually a bit longer than Outland. You can try contacting CIC or your VO to ask about your case or order notes from your case.
What kind of notes should i order?

I have a question. Do I have to fill out the use of representative form if I'm not using a representative?

if the principal applicant is dealing with CIC on their own then you don't have to fill it, but if you are a sponsor and you want to receive messages instead of principal applicant and you want to receive all the other information regarding your file, then yes you need to fill it otherwise they will reject your application.

Hi

I have a question. With my wife of 18 years we are living outside Canada, we have an apartment in Canada and we want to move there in July. We are preparing all the forms and documents, should we wait until we are in Canada to send the file to CIC or can we start the process now and gaing some time.

What do we have to say in entry to Canada, should we say that my wife comes to live in Canada?

What do we have to do to register for OHIP? What papers do we need?

I forgot to mention that I'm a Canadian citizen sponsoring my wife

Hey guys, question about Generic Application form. I've searched a couple threads on this and never seem to see consistent answers, but doesn't warrant a thread of it's own.

For the nickname/alias question, does that include alias's on forms such as this? As in, would I have to disclose to CIC on my spousal sponsorship form about my forum name Arctic Circle? And likewise for any of my husband's online monikers? I've seen answers saying yes, disclose all online monikers, and others saying it's only important pertaining to legal documents, alias's for careers etc. The last thing I want to do is unintentionally commit misrepresentation by not putting some of my forum names on there, so figured I'd double check!

Need more information. Where is your wife from? Are you a Canadian citizen or PR?

She can't just get OHIP. When you get OHIP depends on whether you apply inland or outland. For outland you are eligible for OHIP 90 days after you land as a PR. For inland it is at the Approval in Principle stage, which is closer to the end of the process (which takes about 12 months).

One question, the 12 months for processing starts when ?
  1. We received your application to sponsor xxxxxxxxxxxx on June 9, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on July 11, 2017.

The june 9 or july 11 ?

thanks
