What I think it means after a bit of research is the batches the apps are put in. Many inland people have "SPI" which I think means spouse in Canada, so OSI would be something like Outside spouse. "SPI" was listed in an operational bulletin in July, something to do with speeding up processing. Nothing to worry about!
Sounds reasonable, thanks, any news I receive on this, will update here

I have a few questions as this is relatively new to Me.

My fiancé lives in Canada. I am in the states. I have two children from a previous relationship I am wanting to bring as well. My fiancé lives with her family in Canada, and doesn't work. I would like to know the process. I am wanting to be able to work there as soon as possible. When should we get married? In the states or Canada? What options do we have so that I can work immediately when there. Will she be able to sponsor us without any income?

Hi there, you can marry your fiancé either in the US or Canada (I'm Canadian and I'm sponsoring my husband who is American and we got married in the US). If I were you I would get married as soon as possible because putting the application together takes a lot of time. You fiancé can sponsor you even if she isn't getting income. There is no income requirement for spousal sponsorship. You fiancé should not be receiving any welfare because if she is then she isn't eligible to sponsor you. As for working here, I'm not sure when you can start working.
The process is as follows:
1) get married
2) do your medical exam (I believe your children have to do it also)
3) get all your documents (certified copy of marriage certificate, proof of medical exam, copy of birth certificate, etc)
4) start filling out the applications (make sure you're filling out only the applications applicable to your sponsor, you, and your children)
5) gather your proof of relationship (this can include: photos, phone bills, text messages, etc)
6) put everything in the order that is on the checklists (there will be two checklists)
7) check and recheck and recheck to make sure you're not missing anything. (Pay all applicable fees: sponsor fee, principle applicant fee, and any fees needed for your children. Put a copy of the receipt in the sponsor's application)
8 ) send your application (I sent it from Canada and used UPS. I paid $41 for it to get there in 3 days).
9) they will email your sponsor saying that they receive your application
10) they will start processing your sponsor's application first and if she is approved to be your sponsor then they will transfer your application to Ottawa (processing her application usually takes about a month)
11) they will then process your application (I've heard for US applications it takes about 4-5 months)
12) if you are approved you will receive COPR in the mail (confirmation of permanent residency)
13) you can come to Canada and show your COPR
14) you will receive your PR card in the mail in Canada

Somebody else please address the question about working in Canada

Where or when you get married is entirely up to you.

There is no option that will allow you to work immediately while the PR app processes. Your best option would be to get married, apply outland and continue working in the US until you are approved. You can then land as a PR when you move to Canada and be able to work as soon as you get a SIN.

While there is no minimum income requirement, you guys need to show that you can support yourselves without welfare. You can show your income, savings/investments, financial help from family etc. As she is unemployed and lives with her family, a letter from them stating they support her and will help support you is very important.

What is the legal situation with your children? Will the other parent give permission for the children to move to Canada or do you have complete custody?

Did they request more proof? There will be an email with this information.

You can't get a PR within a year for Inland application . and you will not get Citizenship for sure .
CIC Website estimate processing time for inland PR application is 26 Months .

did the letter contain instructions for sending a response? if not, you can either send a case specific enquiry through the CIC website, respond directly to that email with the information or mail it directly.

Forms/Courier for 2017 application

Hi guys. Just planning to apply for my mother (already in Canada on super-visa). I had a question about forms available on CIC website. It looks like the Financial Evaluation form (IMM5768E) was last updated in 2015 and only asks for financial info from 2014/2013/2012. Is that the right form to be used for applying in Jan 2017 or is there a different form yet to be released by CIC. I tried to find a way to contact them regarding this but website doesn't have any useful contact info for this :(

Secondly, I hear that to ensure successful submission within quota limitations you have no choice but to hire a specialized courier in the GTA who will physically ensure your application is submitted as soon as possible after CPC office opens very first day of the year! Any idea which one(s) would be the best option for submitting application successfully in time without breaking the bank?

Thanks for any input/feedback.

I haven't received any update on my application submiited on April, last email I received was aor2 in June.
Applicants from my visa office with the same timeline as mine are either approved or they are receiving pre arrival emails. Should i worry now or no news means good news?

Always use the most recent form so if the financial form was last updated in 2015 then use that but always check back to see if a more recent form came out before submitting. As for a courier, I used UPS which guaranteed that my package would arrive in 3 days and on the morning of the third day, in which it did. The price depended on the weight of my package. Mine weighed 4 lbs and it came to $41 inclusive of tax. So $41 for guaranteed 3 day delivery for a 4 lbs package. Of course if you ship it a week in advance it'll be cheaper.
