Hi all, I would like to know if one can sponsor their spouse from overseas being employed part-time or they have to have full-time job in order to sponsor their spouse?
1) You submit everything together in one application package to Mississauga.Miletski05 said:Hi Everyone,
I came to Canada thru Visitor Visa (came on July 15, 2016) as invited by my husband and my visa will expire on Dec. 22, 2016. We are planning for an Inland Sponsorship Family Class Application. We want to ask for help in a few questions:
1.) I want to work while my application is being processed. Should we submit the Family Sponsorship together with the Open Work Permit (OWP) in one envelope? Should we send it in Mississauga or in Vegreville?
2.) How long is the processing times for OWP? We have read that Inland Family Sponsorship takes a long time.
3.) We are just worried that my tourist visa may expire should the OWP be granted. Should I also apply for Visitor Visa Extension together with the Family Class Sponsorship and OWP? Which means we would pay for 3 processing fees but under one envelope?
We are hoping for your kind and honest answers.
Thank you in advance
Yes - they are likely close to finalizing your application. Complete the re-medical as soon as you can if you want to avoid further delays.Valkriz said:Hi everyone,
So my husband just received email from Vienna 2 days ago on the 4th requesting for his new medicals. Back in January they requested his ARC, we submitted it end of Feb, and his 1 yr exclusion order expired March 19. In the email a few days ago from Vienna they included a letter stating that "you do not need a formal authorization to return to Canada because you were issued an exclusion order that has now expired as your departure was confirmed more than a year ago" and continues with if you would like to visit Canada you remain subject to all other requirements etc etc. We were shocked at this and alittle confused also. Why did they request it from us in the first place? And they requested it exactly 2 months before his exclusion order expired. We are now reaching 15 months into our overall sponsorship application which the process time currently says 15 months. Our question though is, since they requested for his me medicals (his first one has since expired awhile ago) is this a positive sign? Can this mean we are in the final stage? We know they can just extend an expired medical so can there be a reason why they are requesting for a new one? Also giving into consideration that they stated he doesn't need ARC anymore and our overall timeline, can this mean passport request next? We are sos hopeful on that as we can't wait to be together again soon!
Thank you for your replies!

my wife was invited to attend a voluntary orientation seminar as well , and they had to make sure to mention that been invited to this seminar doesn't mean or guarantee a successful PR app.ImABule said:Yes, Filipinos must attend the pre departure orientation seminar before emigrating.
I am not sure how that works with you already being abroad.
It is not voluntary for PH.TANMEX said:my wife was invited to attend a voluntary orientation seminar as well , and they had to make sure to mention that been invited to this seminar doesn't mean or guarantee a successful PR app.
You cannot sponsor your sibling unless both parents are deceased, you do not have any children or spouse or any other relative in Canada.farhana766 said:Hello waiting4positive,
Yes you can sponsor your spouse. If any sponsor want to sponsor his wife no minimum income is required. But if you sponsor your brother income is required. For brother you have to show your income.
Take care
