Is your consultant saying you MUST leave the country to apply outland? If so then your consultant is a complete idiot, and you should run away from them IMMEDIATELY. They don't know what they are doing, and will most likely screw up your application.

Portugal citizens are visa exempt to Canada, so you should definitely apply OUTLAND. As long as he can maintain visitor status here, there is no reason to leave Canada at all. He can even put your Canadian address in the outland application. This is exactly what we did for my wife's application.

Hello,

So from the discussion , I understand that I should be sending an Outland application form for my case. As we both are living and working in Canada, Would it be a good idea to request Visa processing at Ottawa rather New Delhi ( which is in my case, My visa office). We can produce our employment letter and pay stubs, can we request them to change the visa office and give them reason for it?

Also I wanted to ask about the dependent declaration form ( IMM0008DEP), What do we actually have to fll in this section. What if we don't have any dependents (which in my knowledge is children), should be put N/A in all sections and still send it? Same question for the use of representative form , though we are do not have any representative, do we still send the form?

We wanted to give our phone call details, but as we both live in Canada and are both on unlimited call plans, we are not able to get the call details? any suggestions what should we do? same goes with messages, though we have all the messages , but not sure how to print them.

Any help would be much appreciated

I have the temporary permit to live and work in portugal and at the moment I dont have the job so I am now living in norway with my brother to accommodate my self and expenses and all that basically my sponsorship case is applied from Portugal and visa office is Paris. But when we did fill up forms I mentioned my living address of norway and postal is Portuguese address. So is it alright???
I mean does visa office will have any concern about this coz London office deals with Norwagians applicants I hope you guys have got my question what I really want to ask!!!!

You can certainly apply. Whether you are approved is a different matter. Visitor visas for spouses of Canadians are often refused.

The 5669 form that husband's kids have to fill out, even tho they are not moving to Canada. Do THEY have to complete and sign them or does my husband complete them using their info and sign them himself? Thanks.

What date do i need to put to the question: Provide the date on which you entered into the common law relationship? is it the date where we first live together or after 1 year of living together?

Thanks

if your husband is in canada already, he can apply to extend his stay as a visitor. He can also apply outland while IN canada as a visitor, and stay for the duration of the process, assuming he was granted a long enough extension. If an interview was requested, he would need to go back to his home country. The fact your consultant doesn't know this information about extending as a visitor and applying outland without leaving canada suggests they may not know what they are doing. i would recommend staying away from them and not pay them at all . Where is your husband from? This information will help guide you better...
Hi,

I have very similar case, my husband and I have submitted the outland application couple weeks ago. He currently holds closed work permit and we both live in Canada. Can he apply for the extension of his work permit or can he change to visitor not worker while waiting for the process. He is from Brazil.

Thanks!!

the date you need to fill in is the first day of your 1-year cohabitation.

No that is wrong.

It's the 365th day of cohabitation, when status officially changes to common law.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3900ETOC.asp
Enter the date (year, month, day) you were married or you entered into your current common-law relationship.
Note: This is the date your status officially changed from being single to common-law, not the date you started living together.

Spousal sponsorship-Visa Office New Delhi-Processing Time & Application tracking

Hi,

I (PR of Canada) am going to send my husband (Indian citizen living in India)'s papers to Case Processing Center-Mississauga, Canada tomorrow.

He has completed upfront medical examination and I'm sending its acknowledgement (tracking sheet) in the application package.

Let me know how do we track the status of application?

Let me know how many days it take to get forwarded to New Delhi from Mississauga?

Let me know how many months it takes to get processed and approved in New Delhi?

Plz reply and share your experience

Thanks in advance

I have a question about translating. I live and work in Mexico as a non-resident of Canada. I don't pay Canadian taxes because of this. I have a letter from my company here stating my position here and that I work 40 hours a week for x salary and have been employed here since 2012. Now I believe I still need to send my paystubs. Do I have to get 24 paystubs (2 per month for 1 year) translated from spanish to english? It would cost a fortune.
