Just wanted to say thanks for all the info everyone has been posting here - I've been lurking here for awhile but your advice was invaluable in putting together our PR application. Fingers crossed for speedy processing!

Hi everyone,

Just looking for some answers and if anyone here has any idea about spousal sponsorship. I am a PR here in Canada and I sponsored my wife under the family class. Right now, she is still in the Philippines awaiting her papers. I was able to submit all the documents needed last February and I got a confirmation email from CIC giving us a UCI sometime around March. We submitted all the documents in time but her NBI clearance expired last April. I submitted all the documents last February so I believe that all of the documents got acknowledged before her NBI clearance expired. Up to now we do not have any update on her papers. Is there a chance that the application is being delayed because of that or is this just a normal waiting time? Thanks and God bless everyone...

Sounds pretty normal for Manila. I would expect you still have several months to wait.

if you haven't got Aor and SA yet that's something to be worried about . Have your file been recieved by cic and have the sponsor been approved ? If no then you should keep calling them till you get responds . If it already transferred to the vo then all you can do is wait and check Ecas whiles you wait for the average processing time. Plz clarify what your case is to get help .

yeah I think so , cic want police C from anywhere the applicant has lived more than 6 months or 6 m so if I wear you I'd get it ASAP and send it to them to avoid further delays.police clearance can take sometime to get so maybe you should start working on that now

no u wont get any uci number again,u and ur sponsor have the same uci number

second Aor is a second letter from the visa office where the application is being processed and yes the applicant will have a uci number assigned to them as well .

Though not related : I have a another question, after we filed for spousal sponsorship through my wife who is a Canadian citizen, we got 1 file number which we use to lookup our ECAS status with her Date of Birth etc. Will I The person being sponsored get a separate file number and have to search ECAS on that file number? And looking at the spreadsheets whats does 2nd AOR mean? Thanks all

yes you will have a second uci number. The applicant get their uci number when cic contacts them. Ecas will show the same info on both applicants and sponsors side . Sponsores Ecas is more detailed I learnt. And second Aor is from the visa office where the application is being processed . Not every office send out this letter so if you are lucky to get it at least you kno your application got there safely .hope this help?

Hi, my husband stays in quebec and i stay in india and just finished my masters in Microbiology.He has a diploma in VFX from canada has a permanent job there since last 3 yrs.He applied for a CSQ for both of us from canada and we both got out CSQs...now can anyone guide me as to what do i do next to go to canada?
1) can i apply for an open work permit from india on the basis of my csq? or
2) can my husband apply for my work permit on the basis of his own work permit? or
3) do i go to canada on visitors visa and apply for my work permit after landing in canada?

any assistance will be appreciated...please help!!!

why don't you go through the family class route? You can apply inland or Outland . Look for family class and read more about it . Then you can take it from there

Have you received sponsorship approval?
