Hi vsingh89 thanks for the reply but what if my parents and her parents are not in canada right now and we get married in the court and get a marriage certificate? the other question was when can i extend my work permit or when would i go in implied status?

Hi guys this seems to be a right thread for me, just had few questions,

Here are my details,

I am currently on a PGWP that expires in a week. What are my options to extend the stay in Canada?
My GF is a PR in Canada and we have been living together since one year and can prove it as we have lease papers on our names, If we get married in Canada, Can I extend my stay in Canada? When can i apply for it? Do i go Implied status? if yes then When? And do we need to show wedding photographs? if we get married in canada by law?

A reply on this would really help pls guys...

THanks.

Besides the Checklist sponsor , do we also need to add the Region Instruction checklist, in my case,Latin America IMM3908. Or is it just an instruction guide that should not be added to the process?
:-( Help!

Include the checklists, no need for the guide :)

Parents super visa

I'm just wondering whether can my parents apply visa for 5 months under super visa ? I will be purchasing insurance for a year. But since both of them are still employed in their country they cannot stay here for a year. If they have the tentative booking for 5 months and would it be a problem ?

Thanks

A second application will be questioned and more scrutinized no matter what, regardless of what box was checked off. In the case where the sponsor is found to be ineligible, CIC will want to know why the sponsor was not eligible (bankruptcy, violence, welfare, etc.). If the sponsor is found to be eligible, then the checkbox is no longer relevant because the application won't be withdrawn due to sponsor ineligibility unless the sponsor requests at some other point to withdraw the application. A withdrawal of the application due to an ineligible sponsor is not nearly as difficult to deal with or explain as a refusal in the second stage due to the applicant not meeting the most basic requirement. An applicant without an eligible sponsor is not a member of family class sponsorship and that is why the majority of cases should select withdraw in the event of an ineligible sponsor.

The checkbox is only relevant for the first stage of processing where the sponsor is evaluated. If a VO refuses the application in the second stage, if it is an outland application, an appeal can be filed.

That was an amazing answer! Thank you so much for that info. I'll leave the box checked off as it was (proceed with app) because my husband is eligible so that's not even a worry.
My only worry potentially is that they may nag me a bit about my refused refugee case, but since i met my husband before i even had a trial date, i was told i'll be perfectly fine, and that a lot of others have been through the same thing and worse - and they all passed.
If anyone else is going through something similar, good luck all!

Angie

The only way that you can send them now is after sponsor approval, when you have received an application number (usually in the format: Fxxxxxxxxx - with the x's being numbers).

So, you need to wait for approval, and one of two things will happen: Your application will either be rejected because it isn't complete, or your application will be approved, and if you do nothing, your visa office will then request the missing items with PPR. If the sponsorship application is approved despite not being complete, you can attempt to avoid delay (bearing in mind that PPR with a document request takes more time than a simple PPR) by sending the missing items with your application number shortly after your sponsorship approval and well before PPR.

I hope that's helpful.

Passport Request

Hello - I am getting married and my spouse is Indian National but has been living in Pakistan since 2012 on a Visitor's visa as she had applied for permanent residence there. She hasn't received any IDs in Pakistan yet.

My question is whether she should fill in the application for India or Pakistan.

Thanks.
