I should have mentioned:
I am sponsoring him (I being the permanent resident of Canada)
He is on work visa which expires in jan 2015 but can be extended( not sure though)

How do I select a visa office as i dont see any options of putting what you want?

Please answer all the questions mentioned on the earlier post:
here they are:
My spouse is in USA with H1B (been just a month)
We are Indian nationals
How do I apply through Indian visa office ? Q4 of IMM0008 which ask for Immigration office requested for. You can select either USA or India
And If I have to choose USA visa office , wher do I mention it?Q4 of IMM0008

Is interview mandatory? No mandate but depends on the VO

If he hasnt been in USA for more than six months, does he need police clearance from FBI?it again depends on the VO but if the request of PCC is made after completion or in 6th month of stay they generally ask.

If we apply through Indian visa office(New Delhi), they ask to mention (in the information guides)if the sponsored has been to another country, how do we answer that (as he is till residing there)? when it ask for current country of residence then you can mention as USA and nationality as Indian

I am very confused
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Please check with the answers next to the questions

IMM 0008, question # 4 "Immigration Office Requested for processing this application".

Indicate this on IMM 0008 question # 4.

No. It is up to the visa office.

No he doesn't, but they are going to require one once he has been in the US for more than six months.

You would answer the question truthfully - yes, and he resides in the US presently.

thank you very much for the quick response :)

For FBI PCC, as per mentioned by you guys, is it safer to just get it done and attach bcause i fear the file might be delayed if they ask for FBI PCC once he completes 6 months of stay?

Also, they say for the immigration guide:
"Sponsored relatives must follow specific instructions depending on where they live. To find their region, use the list below"
As he is living in USA at the moment , do we follow USA Immigration guide or India's? (I would assume India)

And in the Indian Immigration guide, they ask the dates from and until when you lived in another country
So, do I just put the from dates and for the until part-put that he is still residing?

AND DID I MENTION YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST
All my fears are put off !!
Thank you very much :)
cheers

Is he going to request NDVO or CPP-O? If he asks for NDVO then use the India guide. If he asks for CPP-O then use the US guide.

When I filled out forms, I'd either write "Present" (by hand) or for forms that had to validate I'd list the date I signed the form. He could also try using the date for the expiration of the H1-B visa.

As for the India PCC, I'd refer to the CIC website for detailed instructions.

Where you do the PR landing has absolutely nothing to do with where you will be a resident in Canada. New PRs must do the official landing in the first Canadian city their plane lands in, so it's very common to do landing in a stop-over city like Toronto, and then immediately take the connecting flight out to their final destination wherever in Canada.

Alberta health care will ask for proof of address to show residency in Alberta. So as long as she can show that, it will be fine.
Thank you very much Rob_TO.

So, regardless of where a new immigrant lands, either in Toronto or in Vancouver or Montreal, it is the proof of address one will need to determine their Residency and subsequently other Government issued documents, right?

Hi Everyone

We got an email from Accra asking for meds. We have already sent meds, and online it says "meds received". The meds were done in October 2012. My guess is they are asking for new meds as these have expired? I believe meds are only good for one year? I am asking because on the email all they do is request for meds, they do say because yours are expired.

We are having this treated in Accra, because although my husband is born in NIger (which we would have to send the papers to Dakar) he also has Benin citizenship, which for Benin you send to Accra your papers. Last time we had the meds done, the doctor in Niger insisted to send to Dakar, but ended up sending the results to Mississaugua because he did not want to send them to Accra. Does it make a difference where the results are sent? I called CIC and this rather rude service agent told me it doesn't matter because they all get scanned into one system...BUt he did not seem very knowledgeable....

Lastly, when they ask for meds, is this because the processing is done? Usually they ask for the meds at the end of the cycle I think? And I assume if they ask for the meds it is because they are going to give my husband the visa otherwise why would they ask?

Sorry for the long winded email but I need some help please! :'(

HELP : SPONSORING SPOUSE IN CHINA

HELP WITH DOCUMENTATION TO SPONSOR SPOUSE FROM CHINA

I am a Canadian citizen living in Toronto.
I married a Chinese national living in China.
I am in the process of applying to sponsor her for PR.
In the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website there is a long list of documents that need to be filled by the sponsor and a separate list for the spouse ( cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp )

However, in the same website there is a section specific to China that lists a different list of documents that seem to overlap but it is confusing as the list for the sponsor is too short and easy to look like complete ( cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3903e.pdf )

I am afraid that if I submit the documents in the first list I may provide too many documents opening room to more scrutiny delaying the process.
On the other hand, if I submit the list from the China specific list which is quiet shorter in number of forms required it may be too little resulting in delays due to insufficient data.

I hate it how confusing it is leaving us to guess which one we should use.

Can anyone shed light on this?

Thank you in advance for your help.

You need to provide the documents requested in both sections. The country specific form (second link) is something you must do in addition to the requirements in the first link.

Thank you Scylla.

The confusing part is that the country specific list is not complementary but overlapping.

For example, the country specific requires forms for both the sponsor and spouse being sponsored, just shorter list.
It misses :
IM 1344, 5481, 1283, 5409

If it is in addition why would they list the main forms for both the sponsor and the sponsored spouse? Also the country specific country says that it takes precedence over other documents.

Why is this so unclear?

NEED HELP SPONSORING SPOUSE FROM CHINA : PICTURES / COMMUNICATIONS TO PROVE RELATIONSHIP

My spouse and myself have stopped using cameras a long time ago.
All the pictures we have were taken by smartphones dating back two years.
Do we still need to print each photo in traditional photo size or is it recommended to print them in letter size paper laying out 4-6 photos in each page to be more environmentally friendly but also more organized?

For text messages and chats there is just too many pages.
What is adequate amount and layout?
One random communication per quarter? per month? per week?

Thank you in advance for your tips

I may have an odd situation here but i'm not sure. I moved to the US from Canada and went through all the proper procedures and such therefore taking care of things legally. We did use an attorney so it would be done properly. I am now a US Citizen. However, my husband and I are wanting to move to Canada now to be closer to my family and grandchildren. I have been married for 7 years so proving that isn't going to be difficult. What I am wondering is the best course of action to take here? My husband has a masters degree in his line of work and there are many jobs available in Canada for him. Our concern is this: should I move back and begin the paperwork using spousal immigration or is it best to go through the skilled worker program? I'm thinking to move back it would also be easier to just sell everything and start fresh in Canada? I have family that we could stay with until we get this all figured out so that isn't a problem I don't think? I look forward to any information you could help me with here. We have considered speaking to an attorney and possibly going that route but I did all the paperwork myself when I moved here and the attorney just filed it all. I'm thinking it may be possible to do the same going to Canada? Please advise.
