I would like to know that i have submitted my file for sponsoring my wife outside canada and medical result also has been received. They have also took the passport for stamping since last three months and still no reply. If anyone can please let me know what should I do in this case that would be great. I also wanted to know that if medical expired do they tell us to do the another time or they issued the visa before medical expire. Thanks.
Difficult to say without knowing which visa office...

I'd bet this is New Delhi office - they like to take the passport up front, unlike any other visa office. Have you looked at processing time for your specific visa office? It's on the CIC website ("check processing times" I think it is.)

Normally they will either extend the medicals or advise you to redo them if they are about to expire or expired. Note that the validity of the visa and COPR will be the sooner of the passport expiration or the medical expiration.

Hello,

I recently sponsored my husband who is working in US presently. At the time of application, I filed it under "outside Canada" category. He is looking for an opportunity through his employer in Canada. In case he gets the job in Canada and moves here, would his location change to Canada also change his application status to "inside Canada" category?

Thank you!

No. It would only change if you pull your outland application and resubmit an entirely different package.

In addition to what Parker24 aptly noted, the confusion people seem to have here (strongly promoted by the CIC website) is that "inland" and "outland" have something to do with the location of the applicant. It doesn't. CIC is a geographically challenged organization - they consider Ottawa (CPP-O) to be "outside Canada".

Inland versus Outland has to do with the office that processes the applicant part of the application. Inland is always done in Canada and is only available to applicants residing in Canada with their Canadian spouse. Outland is always done outside Canada (which includes part of Ottawa) and is available to applicants living anywhere.

My middle name is not included in my passport and marriage certificate, however, most of my other documents including the citizenship card, landing papers include my middle name. How should I fill it out in the application? Also, if I use my middle name in one place does that mean I have to include it everywhere in order to be consistent? ie in the sponsored persons forms and also all my forms?

If your middle name is part of your legal name then include it. I would also take steps to amend any other documents that do not include it.

We are almost ready to send our application next week. Having to amend my name on my passport will be time consuming. Do you think it'll be a big issue if I include my middle name even though it's not indicated on my passport? They can clearly see it is on my citizenship card and my landing papers.

I would include it in the application and fix the others at a later date. Inform CIC that this is the case. do not leave out information just because someone else did. Best to provide too much information then not enough. You never want to give the impression that you are not prepared to be completely honest.

Sorry to bug you again! I just need to be clear otherwise I'll go paranoid thinking they might reject my application lol

IMM1344 said to indicate exactly as shown on the passport. In that case what if I just put my Last, First as indicated on my passport. I can include a note explaining that it is NOT included in my passport but I will be getting my passport amended. Then everywhere else I can write it as Last, First Middle and then indicate where it states any other names as Last, First only.

Once again thank you so much for your help CanadianJeepGuy

I was the sponsor and a similar happened to me. My birth certificate had my middle name, my passport had my middle initial, and my marriage certificate didn't have anything. All I did was write out my full middle name (because instructions said don't put initials and my passport had an initial) and wrote an explanation on why I put my full middle name and not just the initial that is on my passport. I included my birth certificate so they could see that it is actually my middle name. There wasn't any issue at all. My husband's visa was approved in 3months and 3 days from when received by Mississauga. If u include that, there is no need. to go and changed your name on your documents.
