Generally a couple of weeks.WaterDad said:We received our "copies of passports" request on Oct 19th from Ottawa and we emailed them the information the same day. Our question is how long now?
The expiration will be the lesser of your passport expiration or your medical expiration (one year from the date of your medicals).WaterDad said:Also, once we do receive the documentation to land, how long do we have before we have to travel to Canada to land? Once we do land, how long do we have before we have to move to Canada?
If he was told he passed, then you should hear something within a month.europe said:i have a question my husband had interview last thursay and the consular who interveid him told that he passed the interview, our process is in Vienna Austria, does anybody know how long take to know the answer.

ND is unique amongst VOs as far as I can tell, because they ask for the passport at the beginning of processing your file, not at the end. So, it seems common for people to wait 6+ months before they get their passport back.samHARVI said:Just wondering if anyone can tell me how long usually New Delhi visa office take to issue visa ones they request Passport. my friend's passport was req almost 8 weeks ago .. still have not heard anything. he is thinking if he should inquire or is it normal ..
Thanks in Advance
I just went through this in a different thread, in fact, because someone kept pushing me for a definitive citation. I knew it was in the Charter, but I went and dug out the exact reference - Section 6 "Mobility".amikety said:If you have your PR, you are free to live wherever in Canada you wish.
Source: Charter of Rights, Section 6(2). http://charterofrights.ca/en/15_00_01Every citizen of Canada and every person who has the status of a permanent resident of Canada has the right
a) to move to and take up residence in any province; and
b) to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in any province.
It's not required for the applicant(it is somewhat required for the sponsor), but it's a good thing to have. It can be the pay stubs or banking information if his company will not provide anythingnoshi11 said:Hi,
Does the applicant need to provide proof of employment? If it is a requirement can the applicant provide pay stubs and banking statements or does he/she have to provide work experience/reference letters?
My husband is having a hard time receiving any sort of reference letter from his current employer.
Please help! Thanks

You can i wanna know that itvwould create problem for in getting citizenship or not. and how much time it will take me to sponsor my husband from manitoba or in ontario. Is there any difference. Thanx for your reply.
But please help me.
No, it will not affect your ability to qualify for citizenship. The time to obtain sponsor approval is a function of CPC-M, not of the province in which you reside. So right now it's about 2.5 months.Baby1990 said:You can i wanna know that itvwould create problem for in getting citizenship or not. and how much time it will take me to sponsor my husband from manitoba or in ontario. There's technically nothing stopping you from traveling.switchtofrank said:YEAHHH , I received my first stage approval and my new open work permit on the 12th of Oktober. Application was sent 6th of April (Inland). My question now: I have the visitor status document and my new work permit but I am still waiting for final approval, can I travel now or will I have to wait for the final approval? > my job requires me to travel and it would be a great plus if I could do so but I also don't want to risk my PR by traveling. Any help is highly appreciated.
Thank You!
