Hello,

I basically submitted 10 pages not double sided, unless it was my phone bill (that showed the amount of texts a day). I feel like if they want more information they will ask, some people I heard did double sided.

Good luck!
Thanks, I will just go with 10 pages single-sided since that's what they asked I guess.

Quick stupid question: should we check sections that we are not submitting even to prove that we have reviewed them? For example, document checklist, 6. Medical examination: "do not complete a medical examination at this time". Should I still check that?
Thanks!
I would think, no you shouldn't be checking that section cause it would mean that you did go through a medical exam and didn't provide the details. But I'll let the experts respond to your inquiry.

My husband is on the last stage and they said they don' require anymore documents from us and they are currently processing his background check which we don't know how long it will take. But, my question is his open work permit is about to expire on January 19, 2017. But I am pretty sure they will make a decisin between 3 or 4 months from now but my question is can it become a problem if his open work permit expires and he decides not to renew it and to just wait for his PR???

Hi guys,

im hoping that somebody can put my mind at ease. I applied for my husband (outland)on October 31, 2017 it was received at the case processing centre in Mississauga, ONTARIO . I have yet to receive anything , no email, no approval of sponsor, which is normal because i am in another group where in some cases it has taken 2 months. However, I did not submit my NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT (with explanation), because i was waiting for it to come surely enough my notice of assessment finally came and now I am unable to send it in as I don't have an application number/ my file probably hasn't been opened.

Did anybody submit close to before or after this date? Have you heard anything back? pretty anxious to submit this notice of assessment.

Thanks in advance!!
If you included an explanation letter this should be all they're looking for. I don't imagine they're judging the strength of the evidence (for AoR), merely that every necessary item is ticked.

Try not to worry about not receiving AoR yet. I'm inland but mine arrived on same day as someone applying 8 days later than me. It's a bit random. Fingers crossed for you.

I recently got my PR (CoPR) which is valid till Aug end 2018. I have not done landing yet. I am planning to get married in Feb 2018.My queries are:

1. Is it advisable to get married first and then land in Canada & then sponsor my wife?
2. To sponsor my wife, is it necessary that i have to be reside in Canada only ?
3. Is it necessary that i have to show that i am working in Canada & then only i can sponsor her or is it enough that i show sufficient funds in my account ?
4. Instead of the above steps, Is it advisable to surrender my CoPR and submit my wife details also so that together we both get the CoPR ?- Will my CoPR get rejected here for any reason ?

Nobody from October 31st has heard back yet. AOR is taking 6-7 weeks for outland and 8 weeks for inland at the moment. If you included a letter of explanation with a valid reason for not including the NOA, hopefully they will not send the application back and you will receive AOR. You are correct that there is no way for you to submit the NOA until you get your AOR with your file number. Good luck!

1. You absolutely cannot get married and then land using a COPR that was issued to you as a single person. You would never be allowed to sponsor your wife if you did that and would also risk losing your own PR. Your options are either a) land BEFORE you get married, then get married and sponsor your wife via spousal sponsorship, or b) get married before you land and go through the process of adding your wife as a non-accompanying spouse to your application so that your COPR can be re-issued, then apply for your wife's PR via spousal sponsorship after you land.

2. Yes, as a PR you are required to be living in Canada during the sponsorship process.

3. There is no minimum income requirement or employment requirement, showing sufficient funds in your bank account is enough.

4. See #1

Yes, this would be a problem because your husband would be out of status. The fact that he holds an OWP is what has given him legal status in Canada. If you don't wish to renew the OWP but would like your husband to remain in status while you finish waiting for the PR app to be approved, you can apply online for $100 to extend or change the conditions of his stay and he would be able to stay as a visitor.

How do you indicate that, instead of filling something up, you attach the information on a separate sheet of paper? Do you just leave it blank or do you write something?

Thanks a lot
You SHOULD NOT leave it blank.
Write "Please see attached sheet".

Can anyone help me with my question?

I still have a visitor status, but it's going to expire in February and I will send my application in January. I'd like to know if I will be on implied status by the time I send my documents or by the time they receive it.
Thanks

I have a quick question also.
If were applying inland, should we still include chat logs and airplane tickets as evidence even though it doesn't ask for them?
