Received AOR as sponsor, then PA got an ADR on the same day as the AOR. Does that mean sponsor eligibility review will remain on hold until we respond to the ADR, or will my eligibility review still go through even before they acknowledge receipt of the ADR?

Hello,

I have sponsored my wife through the spousal sponsorship program and we are finally landing in Toronto later this month.

We just wanted to get up to speed with regards to the procedures to follow and the preparedness needed for landing.

Is there any specific information or documents we must have handy when facing immigration at landing for the first time, for example bank statements with proof of funds?

Also, since we will only be carrying our personal luggage with no plans to ship any household effects later, do we still need to fill out the BSF186 form at landing or not?

Are there any particular questions from the immigration officials we or my wife must be prepared to answer?

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

It was for a new police certificate. When we submitted the application package the previous one was still valid, but the AOR was issued past the document expiry date, hence the need for a new one.

How long after applying for your PCC did it take you to receive it? What was the date of issuance on the PCC? Was it the date you applied or the date your received it? My wife applied for her PCC and has been waiting for it for more than 10 weeks, hence why I'm asking.

After I got my PPR I got an Information email about passport etc. Because I come from a visa exempt country, I don't need to send my passport to VO. Instead, I have to upload some copies and a form.
My Question is, how does that work? Were can I upload the copies?

In my GCKey account is a section about documents to upload by request and about fees and so on. But somehow It doesn't work from there and it doesnt show any request.

Does anyone of you know how that works?

There are no proof of funds for sponsored spouse.

Then, this would be part of the background check. IRCC could theoretically proceed with other parts of the application evaluation, but knowing IRCC, they probably don't look at the application again until after you provide what they've requested.

Makes sense. Oddly though I got the sponsor approval today, and the PA received a medical exam request as well, which makes me think there is no fixed sequence to how they process these applications.

IS anyone there who submitted Outland India(PA) in or around March end - April beginning and almost 10 months not much except BIL , MIL and VO change ? Does eligibility take 3 or more than 3 months to complete ? They still short of manpower ?

Submitted Outland Spousal sponsorship from India on Feb 19.

Received AOR on March 01

Asked to pay biometric fee on March 13

Got medical request on Mrach 14

Medical completed on March 31

Application for Visitor visa submitted on April 14

My PA just received eligibility on the 3rd of April and we submitted our Application on the 26 September. Timelines are different for everyone, but expect it to take anywhere from 4-12 weeks or longer

I am new to this forum so apologies if this is not the right platform for this question. I sponsored my spouse in January 2024. Medical was done in November and after that we received additional questions related to our marriage. We both are originally from Pakistan but I moved to Canada 10 years ago and now a Canadian citizen. Main question was related "Rukhsati" which was not done as I live in Toronto. Since then no response from CIC . We ordered GCMS which shows last notes stating An interview is required to further assess the bona fides of the relationship (dated December 18, 2024) but we have not received any letter about interview yet? Does anyone else have similar experience? Any idea how long it might take before an interview will be arranged?

For spousal sponsorship, will engagement invitation and photos taken during the ceremony will be helpful as an added advantage when submitting the PR along with the marriage certificate?
Usually in India , some of us tend do a small ceremony ,3-6 months before marriage and confirm between families that we will be married in so and so date ? Although it’s not same as the official marriage certificate and it can’t be a replacement, just want to make sure if this invite and photos will be useful .
